I've had my 2024 SR5 for almost a year now and I feel I made the right decision. People with higher trims are spending money on removing the extra Chrome they payed for. My non-electric seats have never had problems (I've set them once and never changed it). Dual zone climate control? I prefer a simple interface. I much prefer the 8" multi-media display to the 14", why do you want to look at a massive 14" computer screen that blocks your forward view? The basic 9 speaker stereo sounds great with the relatively cheap BeatSonic DSP/Amp.

The SR5's also have the best looking factory wheels. Although, I will likely upgrade to all terrain tires once I wear out the street tires it came with. I've never understood why they put 20" wheels on "off-road" trucks. There is a much better tire selection in 17/18".

I know it's tempting to get all the bells and whistles but for the money you can't go wrong with the SR5 trim. Who agrees/disagrees with me?

I like my SR5 TRD OR Trail. Does everything I need it to do. I have power seats and enjoy them. The stereo is fine and no fake noise to deal with.

I didn’t pay extra for chrome on my limited. I payed for leather heated/cooled seats, big display, 360 camera, digital rear view mirror, auto AC, digital gauge cluster, premium LED headlights. And yea I love all those options. And yes I hated the chrome so I removed it all. I highly disagree with you about the sr5 wheels. They look like shit and definitely look out of place on the tundra. If your talking about the silver poverty wheels…

I have SR5 TRD sport premium. Has almost everything I wanted. Paint matched everything. Softex seats, 360 cam, 14” screen, digital rear view, heated seat, heated steering, Power Seats, dual climate, and Auto climate.

I didn’t want a panoramic sunroof is why I went SR5. I do wish I have heated/ventilated front and rear seat, premium headlight, and HUD. If only I could get a platinum without sunroof.

They make different trims because different people are looking for different things. That’s why you are a happy SR5 owner and I’m a happy Platinum owner. We each could get what we wanted. Nobody has to be right, nobody has to be wrong. Just a preference, like a favorite color.

Green is the best, easily, btw.

And if the 14” screen sticking up 1.5-2” blocks your view you must be 4’2” tall lol.:p

The large infotainment display looks really out of place. Perhaps I'm biased since I've been an engineer looking at a panorama of display's for most of my life and I now really prefer to see the real world and not computer monitors. I like the analog gauges. My SR5 did come with a lot of upgrades like running boards, center console safe, front camera, bed step, usb power in the back, ... All dealer installed which raised the price but was still fairly reasonable. It's not that I couldn't afford the fancy trims, it's just that most of what they offered were features I didn't care about.

Why not just have a giant 50" screen instead of the windshield? No need to actually see the world around you with your own eyes.
    I'm 6'1" BTW.

Could always buy a RAM if you want a huge infotainment screen but than after you drive it, you’ll want to “suck start” a loaded Remington 870.

I’ve got the SR5 and agree, it’s the best trim level! Got everything I need and didn’t break the bank. The 360 cameras would have been nice though… maybe a mod one day…

Not a 3rd gen, but i have an old 2004 tundra SR5. Manual seats, power windows, power door locks, broken OEM CD player. I’m totally happy to just have a cruise control and a working A/C in any of my vehicles. My sister’s 2022 Ram Cummins has all the bells and whistles. and a huge infotainment screen. I could care less about most of them, but i REALLY, REALLY love her ventilated seats! For me it’s an absolute game changer to not have a sweaty back when driving around. I don’t know how much the vented seat option costs on a new tundra, but that would be the first thing i would add to my list of must haves. As for sunroof? No real need for one on the wet side of Oregon.

I agree, the ventilated seats would be nice. I’m already on a mission in another thread to track down what it takes to install this in my rig. Hopefully there’s an easy way.

Accessory Add On's: I feel this is one area where Toyota is really not giving customers what they want. Most of the options are only available via a "package". So if there is a particular feature/accessory you want, most of the time you have to buy a lot of other features you don't care about in order to get it. These packages are typically factory installed options and are not available once the truck is built. They would sell a lot more accessories if they were all plug-and-play and individually available.

There are a few features I would like to have had in my SR5 but I'm not going to buy a $10-20K package in order to get a feature that should cost a few hundred dollars. I realize that they save a little bit of money by not including the wiring and harnesses for unpopulated accessories but imagine how many accessories they would sell if they were easy to install and the wires and connectors were already in place.

You forgot to mention the cubby space on the passenger side dash, no idea why they took that away on the higher trims.

No, the large screen was a deal breaker for me! It looks so out of place and does not integrate into the dash like the 8" does.

My preference would be to have a standard double-din hole in the dash that I could populate with my stereo of choice. I had a really sweet Pioneer CD/DVD stereo/movie player/camera display in my 1st gen Tundra. With the 3rd gen there are only 2 options and they are both pretty mediocre.

Nothing like a totally subjective thread to bring out different opinions....

I'm on my second 1794. I absolutely love the upgraded interior package, 14" screen, heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, 360 degree cameras, JBL system, etc...

I don't even mind the 20" wheels, but I don't do any serious 4 wheeling in my truck. I have a different ride specifically for that.

I love our SR5 TRD Sport, BUT we did find o e with the softtex seat and large Infotainment and speaker upgrade, came with factory branded steps and soft trifold bed cover... Heated and Powerseat and heated sterring wheel... I blacked out the badge but my favorite grill option for sure!

I love my '22 SR5 TRD OR. I believe I got the highest available package. I had plans on getting the TRD Sport but it was not made with the CM 6.5' so I got the OR. I also wanted the hybrid for the power but didn't want allot of what the limited and up trims came with or changed. I like the long pocket above the glove box. I didn't want the wireless charging. I could of gotten a lot less features for about 5g less but I wanted the 360° , 14" screen, locking diff (unfortunately it only works in 4lo) , and I definitely like the rear under seat storage.

2023 SR5 for me. So far no issues or complaints. Has all the tech I wanted and none I did not want. Learned long ago when I went from a SR5 to a TRDOR in the Tacoma model that I would have been better off with fewer bells and whistles, and could save a considerable amount of cash. The other trim levels are nice but not what I need or want.

There doesn't seem to be much difference between an SR5 with the Premium Package (which you seem to have) and the Limited trim. The SR5 does have better looking wheels and the passenger storage above the glove box, however.

The Limited we had an option to buy in our situation and more Chrome than we wanted... but absolutely loved the Moon Roof and cooling seats option. But for the price we loved the "Black Out" of the one we got
