Hi everyone I have stage 1 Icon coil overs on the 16 Tundra with
OE UCA my question is can I adjust up with the OE UCA for now until I get
some UCA for a better ride? I have not messed with the Icons they are at
    factory setting

You can preload it more, but you'd lose more down travel. It's gonna make it ride like shit.

How much thread is showing? I think icon says no more than 2”. Usually you need about 2 1/2” to 3” lift before you need new ucas.

Try to email icon and see how high you can go. I had an issue with my current icons where one was squeaking and they were responsive and helpful. Just give them a day or 2 to answer.

You don't want to put more preload in those coilovers than what they come from the factory! I know there is more thread on there..... but that doesn't mean that you still have more room to lift higher. You look like your 2WD.... if that's so, then your next step is lifted spindles.

according to Icon's website, you should not have more than 2" of exposed thread.

i have about 1-7/8" of exposed thread on mine.

2" of exposed thread is about 4" of lift.
3" of exposed thread would be 6" of lift (which could damage the coils).

you do need aftermarket UCA's when you get around 1.5" of exposed thread.

I have those as well. The first thing i would try is disconnect the sway bar. Icons handle very well in corners due to the valving.
However i agree those are turned up too high

Yeah that’s why I said icon says no more than 2” of thread showing. However, I have mine at 2” thread and have around 3” of lift due to heavier skid plates and bumper/winch. This was with before and after measurements from center of hub to fender.

And him being a 2wd DC like me is gonna give maximum lift with the icons. I had 1 inch of thread on mine and that is 2 inches of lift.

Unless 2wd is different, he should still be able to go up to around 2 1/2” to 3” lift before he needs new uca. So he shouldn’t go over 1 1/4” thread until he gets new uca. And when he does get ucas, icon says no more than 2” of thread.

2wd is a little lighter so for the same amount of thread it will lift slightly more than a 4wd

I’m starting to think I might have gotten some from that bad batch last year. My truck is heavy but I expected more. I think mine were at 1 1/2” thread when they arrived and it was about the same as my 6112s that were set at 1.9”.

Have you ever had the nitrogen serviced in them? All shocks leak down and that can lead to poo ride when they start to cavitate due to low pressure. Max interval is like every 6 months on any serviceable shock.

6 months? Damn, I don’t think I’ve ever had any serviced that soon. I go for years before considering it.

Yeah if you read the fine print most recommend it even more often than that! Its cheap and doesn't take long, good insurance that its running at 100% and pressure helps the seals stay sealing!

hope that works for you. Test it out real well. I found that the icons valving is so aggressive in corners that the sway bar no longer helped at all

I'm upgrading to Icons and want to put a Fab bumper/winch in the front. How much height did you end up losing? Did you upgrade the spring rate or change the front bump stop?

Maybe up to an inch. I have the springs that came on the icons. I think they are 600 lb. I thought about getting the 700 lb ones eventually. I put timberen longer bump stops on the front. If I had to do it again, I’d get the 700 lb springs the first time.
