Hey everyone, Since I've bought my truck, the steering wheel has been at an angle. I've had the truck aligned, tires rebalanced with no luck. No matter what I do, when I put the wheel perfectly straight, the truck goes slightly left. Has anyone else had this issue or are tundra's naturally like that? It drives me nuts and I'm looking for a solution.

    Thanks everyone! Happy Holidays!

That can be adjusted. Have the dealership take a look at it.

What does it do when you let go of the wheel? Does it pull either way?

Take it back and tell them to straighten the wheels. It’s just an adjustment.

when the steering wheel is offset to the right with no input does it straighten out and pull left or stay to the right and drive straight?.

1/4 turn in on L/H and a 1/4 turn out on R/H tie rods will fix that. They didn't center and lock the wheel down when doing the alignment.

You need a better alignment shop ! They need to center the steering wheel before they do the alignment .

If the steering angle sensor was not reset with the Code Link device or a scan tool the steering wheel adjustment can be affected.

My 2020 is doing the same except my wheel is to the left and not the right like OP’s. I’ve removed the steering wheel in an attempt to straighten it out up top, but one tooth to the right only makes me off center in the opposite direction

Hi guys, see if helps you. First, thomasbus337, you should never have to pull the steering wheel off to center it. Your turn signal cancel points will be off and it will not fix you problem.
A little on my back ground; I worked as a service rep. for Hunter Engineering Co. for 20 years. I left four years ago and now I have my own repair shop that also do alignment.
The alignment printout that you are showing tells me a few things. The shop is using a Hunter aligner and on paper your alignment looks great. Now for the possible bad, the tech did not drive you truck the verify that he did a good alignment to see that the truck drives straight and your steering wheel was straight; the alignment machine could be out of calibration and need a service rep. to come in and calibrate it, also the turnplates that the front wheels sit on while being aligned may also need some service. One of the signs that the aligner needs calibration is a crocked steering wheel after the alignment was done.
Still, your problem is an easy fix. If the truck drives straight, but the steering wheel is off to the left or right, you can take a crayon and mark the inner and outer tie rod end at the jam nut and put another reference mark on the outer tie rod end 180 degrees for the first mark. Now, what ever direction and quantity you turn the inner tie rod end on the left side, you do the same on the right side, same direction and quantity. So half a turn down on left, and half a turn down on right. Then test drive. If the steering wheel got straighter, you turned the inner tie rod ends in the right direction. If it got worst, turn the inner tie rod ends back to the original position and continue another half a turn. Then test drive.
Sorry for be so winded, but at my shop, every vehicle get test driven before giving back to my customer.

Having the same issue. Got my alignment from Les Schwab for free from the place I bought my truck, never going back. Firestone has always done well with all vehicles that myself and family have owned.

I should have mentioned, I had the wheel off to leather wrap it anyway. I did find a tech document on TIS that outlined this same fix with the adjustment of the tie rod ends. I added it to the list for the dealer to look at when it goes in for service

If it’s bothering you the tie rod adjustment method is really quick and you can do it in your driveway with wheels on ground. Takes about 5 min. Here’s a direct link to a good video:

My new 2021 with 5 miles had the same issue. Went back to toyota and after 2 different trips they got it right. Maybe they don't test drive them in Texas before shipping?‍♂️

That is the number one return complaint from everywhere, the dealers, tire/alignment shops, etc. after an alignment. I used to work at Hunter Engineering and when we found out that was the number one reason dealers had returns after an alignment we invented a device that mounts to the steering wheel and while under the vehicle they can get the steering wheel level by themselves without needing help.

Take it back tot he last place that aligned the vehicle... unless it has been a long time

So I had mine looked at today. The paperwork states that my toe was out of spec. The wheel is now straight going down the highway but it will drift slightly to the right if I let the wheel go, it didn’t do this before. Again, it’s been like this since new. Would uneven wear from bad toe cause the pull now that it’s properly adjusted?

Its possible. Try swapping the front wheel left to right and see if the drift goes away.
