Looking at going with 275 70 18 and wondering if I will get any rubbing?

I don’t plan to tow much or haul much and looking to improve the ride. I have 2020 platinum and love how flat it corners but it doesn’t handle bumps well and the rear gets annoyingly jittery on wash board roads.

Want a TRD Pro ride for bumps and flat cornering like the platinum. Don’t want to lift it just level it too. Is that even possible?

I'm running 33x12.50x18 on 18x9 +12mm offset, no lift. I had to remove the front mud flaps. I rubbed at full lock on the bumper plastic, I added 1/2" bumper shim, can't even tell. I have 2020 Trd sport.

I'm running Cooper AT3 All terrains in 275/70/18 tires and was surprised that I rub in reverse with the wheel turned. I thought I would be fine just going up one tire size because I have a 6112/ 5160 Billstein suspension installed. Im sure some has to do with my wheel offset which I believe to be +18. I also have an aftermarket high clearance prerunner bumper but it rubs on the back of the wheel well mud flap. Im going to do the heat gun massage technique and try and save the mud flaps. Its weird how some rub in front and others in the back of the wheel well?

I ran 275/70/18's with TRD OR wheels on my sport for a while. Originally installed with stock suspension and there was no rub at all. After installing 6112's @ 1.9" setting to level it, I then got some rubbing on the skid plate. Easy fix - cut small sections out of the skid.

Based on my research here ( I will also be getting 275/70-18 when I need tires) there is typically no rub on a stock truck. However, that will depend on the wheels you use. If you use stock TRDOF wheels, should be good. If anything, could rub on those bolted on front flaps- air dams in the front of wheel wheel. Those can easily be removed.

Yep, spacers or aftermarket wheels with non stock offset could rub more

hmmm, i'm going to be getting 285/65 on stock rims for my '17 CM OR4x. i would imagine no rubbing since it's only one size up, but reading this makes me think i'll be doing my own BMC

Those should fit no issue, no BMC needed. They are only a hair taller than stock for the OR package. Also a touch thinner.

Making me regret my scs wheels for $1500 I might powder coat my steel pen and sell the scs ray10s

i think the difference here is stock wheels. going from stock 275/65 to 275/70 should not make that much difference. aftermarket wheels and diff offset will make a difference. i'm going to be running stock rims, but going to 285/65. i don't believe it'll rub, and i've read more than enough guys who have done the same with no rub.

Correct. Will be fine on stock wheels. Wheels with different offset could rub....same with adding wheel spacers to stock wheels

Careful, some dislike the LT rated tire ride which 99 percent of this tire size has. P rated stock tires are smoother riding, so changing to LT may exacerbate some of the issues you are already experiencing with ride quality.

For a level that helps the ride quality most on here recommend Bilstein. I am really liking my Dobinsons. Plenty of front lift/level options out there. Pick a budget and do some research.

Also note that after a level you may wanna stuff bigger tires in there, ask me how I know.

For flat cornering look into a TRD rear sway bar.

Mine rides a lot rougher than my small stock highway tires.

My LT tires are at 45psi and there is zero difference from my P tires that were at 40psi. I drive a truck, not a Lexus sedan. I appreciate the strength and capability my particular LT offers over the previous P metric dealer tire (they were some random Bridgestone crap something or another).

Hey AK, any other shots of your truck with those tires? I plan to stay stock suspension for the time being and those look like a great upgrade.

I'm not too worried about ride. I'm currently running duratracs on my tundra and had duratracs on my built up land cruiser. i never really noticed anything while driving. probably because my hearing sucks and i turn the radio up...ha ha

Did you try the coachbuilder front bumper shims to move it up 1/2 inch?
