Had to take my 19 TRD Pro in for sunroof repair, it would not open. They said one of the cables had frozen up or rusted. Wow, truck with less than 20K miles, and the sunroof stopped working. Okay, so I took it in, drove a Camry home. Two days later they call and say it's ready to go. Picked up the truck, all seemed good with the sunroof, functioned perfectly, very quiet operation. Coming up my gravel driveway I hear this weird noise over my head. Parked the truck and began looking only to find where they had apparently broken some clips that hold the headliner in place and it is rattling, and not fitting flush around the sunroof opening. All I could do was roll my eyes in disgust. They had to take the headliner down to repair the sunroof. And I specifically told the service manager to please make sure that headliner was put back properly. Now I have to call them today (be nice), have them order new clips, leave my truck again, and hope that they can fix this the right way. You know good and well the technician knew that headliner was not installed correctly. This kind of thing absolutely drives me nuts.

Shoot that’s frustrating. Hopefully it’s a quick fix this time!

That sucks. Seems like the techs don’t really give a crap these days. They couldn’t even top off my fluids after they did some work on my truck

I have been a customer of this Toyota dealership since 1988 and they have always provided me with top notch service. About a month ago the truck was in for service, oil change, tire rotation, etc... When I got home and looked under the truck, I rolled my eyes in shock. The entire underbelly of the truck was glazed with oil. Once that oil hit the driveshaft it went everywhere. The technician had failed to clean the old oil from inside the skid plate and it made a mess. Of course, I called my buddy, the service manager and told him what I found. He was pretty pissed about it and offered to put my truck on a lift and completely clean the underside. But my OCD had already kicked in and I had sprayed the underbelly with Greased Lightning, let it sit for 15 mins, then used a pressure washer on everything. He offered to make it up to me. I told him to just have a talk with his guys and let them know this is not the way to give a customer their vehicle back. Now with this deal about the headliner after the sunroof repair and I am convinced that people just don't give a crap anymore. The sad part is that I'm not even surprised anymore, it's the mindset of people today, they are only at work for a paycheck and take no pride in what they do for a living. I am not mad about any of this, just disappointed. I know the headliner will get fixed, but it should have been done right the first time, same with the oil change mess.

Okay, I'm stepping down from my "soapbox" now.

100% agree. Why I only take it in if I can’t do it myself.

I agree with you guys on this issue. No one cares about workmanship these days. Sorry to hear of the moonroof issue by the way.

The headliner was fixed good as new. I still cringe every time I take my truck in for any kind of service. Good news is the Service Manager is an old friend of mine.

Which dealer did you use? I’m in GA too and want to keep a list handy of decent dealers should they need arise

I use Lagrange Toyota, been using them since 1986 I believe. It's a family owned dealership and they honestly CARE about their customers. The service manager use to be my neighbor before we moved, good man, good neighbor, good friend, great service manager. If you would like his name and info send me a PM and I will provide that info. In all my years I have never experienced a better dealership than Lagrange Toyota.
