Could someone tell me how much time it takes to install a supercharger and what the average rate is? I thought I read somewhere it takes 8-10 hours. I was given a quote if 20 hours at $120/hour. Is that fair or does that seem excessive? Thanks

I was was right @ $2k for the install.

Peitz performance took about 14 hours. I had an issue with the goofy fuel pump wrench.

I installed way back when running stage 1 Harrop untuned was cool.

moving to stage 2 was ~$1800 - includes tune & parts.

so...going straight to a "base" stage 2 Harrop should run you ~14k ish. all in.

then, factor in the Diderot effect and you're looking at another $5k of shit you'll add - because you asked this forum questions. trust me - it happens.

I already have the supercharger so it sounds like 2k might be the install price from what you are saying.

yes. maybe add $1k for tuning & ancillary issues.

...because my initial install only had a before and after dyno run....no tuning. find a good tuning wizard.

    ...AND

if your shop does not normally install on Tundras.....make sure they have the goofy fuel pump wrench. I am not FFV, so needed to change the larger fuel pump.

I think so...you FFV guys have larger fuel pumps already.

be sure to tell the folks you have an FFV...y'all have special shit (in a good way).

there many are folks on here that did FFV.....I'm not one of them.

20 hours is in the ball park if they include other services in that figure and not just bolting on the blower. It seems a bit on the high side otherwise.

The shop I used broke out 14 hours for the Harrop and 2 for the fuel pump (they have to drop the tank). It could be the Magnuson requires more or less time.

Labor rates will change by region.

Sounds like I got mine installed pretty cheap. Bought the Harrop for 7200 on sale, 7400 with shipping. Install including stage 2 parts was 870 bucks. Remote Tune with a MPVI2, injectors and smaller pulley were another 2000. Boost and AFR gauges were installed with the blower and cost $330, plus the flex pod mount was maybe 150 bucks. I know the install labor was low for me, I’m a long time customer of my mechanic’s who just works in his home garage when he’s not at his day job as a mechanic. Most could expect to pay double that for labor.

SC was about 8k delivered, plus 450 for boost gauge and wideband, plus 800 for stage 2 pulley and injectors. Tune was about 500. So all in was about 9750. I also did plugs and coolant flush so definitely under 10k. I installed it myself, easy. It gave me a project to focus on.

I didn't need the fuel pump swap as my truck is FFV.

Took around 20hrs, I think a competent mechanic and experienced can do it in 10hrs or less.
