I am from Ontario Canada and found this great forum. This is my first post and hope I can get opinions from experienced owners and prospective owners.

I am planning to place order for 2025 Tundra Limited. The dealer is offering a free running boards or hard trifold tonneau cover AND 10% off for any accessories. I am planning to lock in with this dealer because they are also offering the highest trade value for my vehicle. The longer I wait the lower my trade in value. So I plan to surrender my trade in now and wait for the 2025 truck.

Why not try to sell your vehicle outright while you wait for the '25? You will probably get more money for it than trading.

We have another vehicle and don’t need the truck immediately. From the press release, we know that it is not a refresh, some minor upgrade such as power tailgate, and slight price increases. Everything else is the same pretty much.

We have been trying to sell it for two months at least and no serious offer so far. Our trade in is 2023 vehicle. 2025 is around the corner. Most dealers offered us $55k but this particular dealership offered us $65k for our trade in. With tax incentive on the trade in we are getting $73k. We posted our vehicle for $71k for private buyers. As you can see, their offer is even higher than what we are asking. When 2025 vehicles are released, our 2023 will drop more in value.

2023 Lexus RX350h with top trim level and $9k in extras (full car PPF and etc) with only 9k km on the mileage. I don’t want to get into detail as to why I am selling a new Lexus as it doesn’t concern my original question :)

I would talk about a free rental while you are waiting to get the new vehicle.

Does the dealer have an ETA on when the 2025 truck will show up? Don’t want to be promised one thing and then delay after delay. I’m just guessing that with the recall and the ramp up in engine production to offset the recalled vehicles I would assume Tundra production to decrease in the best few months.

but if you have another vehicle to drive for the time being then why not just throw them the keys and lock in the numbers. Just make sure everything is in writing prior to leaving. Don’t want to get screwed when the truck comes in

There is one will arrive in October but in hybrid and it is white. I don’t want hybrid because I will lose the under seat storage and no real gas saving. I also prefer magnetic grey color than white.

Yes I will give them the trade in right away and lock in the number. Like I said on my original post, the dealer is asking for full MSRP, give me free running boards or hard trifold tonneau cover, and 10% off of any accessories I want. My question is since it is 2025 MY is it realistic to expect to not pay full MSRP? Is the deal I mentioned above is good deal?

Agree, you don't want white! :puke: It's the slowest and least reliable Tundra model that Toyota makes. Magnetic grey happens to be the fastest. It's also the most reliable out of all the Tundras and brings in all the ladies (warning, this never ending feature can cause issues if you are married), so you are making a great decision here.

*The white trucks seem to suffer from frames bending also. Stay away!

so is it normal and expected to pay full MSRP for upcoming new model year? Am I getting a good deal since I get one free accessory (running board) and 10% off for any accessories I want?

Clearly this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Black is 5% faster, 10% at night and most reliable. Ok, he got the rest right.

EDIT- In the states I’d be looking for at least 5% off msrp. Might be different up there.

I can promise you that the dealer is not going to come out on short end of deal. You better get all your numbers ahead of time.

Yes it’s reasonable for a dealer to ask MSRP for a vehicle they don’t even have on the lot yet. To many unknowns as to what the Tundra market will do between now and when it shows up. As mentioned before, they are not going to end up on the short end. Sounds like they are making a strong offer for the trade too.
Yes, it seems like a decent deal. I’d work them for BOTH, the running boards and the tri-fold. Seems like they would do that in a heart beat, to make the deal. Maybe some front end PPF as well.

It is a full MSRP deal. How can they end up with a short end? They agreed to give me a hard tonneau cover and 10% off any additional accessories. I just sent another email and ask them to include running boards and they refused it for the secondary time. I can only choose one or the other.

I do want to get PPF but full hood which they don’t offer.

Idk man, I see your getting a trade in premium but people are getting huge discounts on trucks once on the lot, it may be better to wait , a hard tonneau cover doesn’t exactly blow my skirt up

did they even tell you which one?

Not in where I live in Canada. The biggest one I was offered was $4k off MSRP for 2024 MY but with low trade in value of $55k.

There is only one option for hard tri-fold tonneau cover on Toyota.ca website for $2028 installed. Maybe OEM one?

100% I want everything in writing. They have told me that they will put everything in writing. I just want to hear people’s opinion if I am getting good decent deal or not.

Is it normal to pay MSRP with free accessory for an upcoming model year Tundra that is not even on lot though even in US?

Limited can be limited to add ons also. I would get a list of everything included in the production of vehicle. The Limited I had did not have phone charger, bed lights, JBL among other things. Cross you T's dot your I's.

Not in Canada. The limited here comes with lots of things including wireless phone charger, panoramic roof etc. You can’t add any add-ons.

I don’t think many people do that , so not sure

there isn’t much difference at all in 24 to 25 so I think people in the market are just buying a discounted 24 now

unless you have to have the massage seats in the platinum, that’s the only thing I can think of

    the refresh isn’t until 26
