Hey all, new to the forum. I’ve had my truck (2004 Tundra) for a while now & I’m due for a brake job (starting to vibrate in the rear during braking). I’ve wanted to do the disc brake swap/upgrade for a while & figure now is a great opportunity. I’ve looked into multiple options but hit a small wall in terms of limited information I’ve been able to find. I really don’t want to spend $1500 on the SOS Performance kit, but also don’t want cobbled together junk either. I know the 1st gen Sequoias have disc brake rear ends, but they have different spring/shock set ups than the Tundras so the whole rear end isn’t a direct bolt in without some modification (my welding skills aren’t the best). Basically my options are:
    1) stick with drums & just get rotors, drums, shoes, etc
    2) buy complete kit from SOS
    3) get backing plate, calipers, axles, etc from a Sequoia from a junkyard, refurbish as needed, & get new rotors/pads for a Sequoia

Will a set of Sequoia axles slide into the Tundra rear end? I feel like that might be easier to do than press off old backing plates if they will slide right in place. Haven’t been able to find info on that specifically so figured I’d post here. Thanks in advance!

    What @Shifty' said.

If youre an access cab or regular cab? Big no.

If you're a double cab, maybe.
