My setup is a 2021 crewmax on BBS wheels +60 with 285/75R18 Wrangler Duratracs. Pulling into a parking spot last night I heard a pop which was new since going to this wheel setup. I knew the sway bar was close so I went to investigate. I saw a rub on the tire and rubber marks on the bar at full lock. It doesn’t look like a spacer would help and might even make it worse as it would lower the bar. Any ideas ? Would grinding those spots down help for some relief ? It’s the solid TRD bar so I can’t imagine it would make it any weaker. Photos are from the passenger side. Driver side clears and there is no adjustment left to right. Everything underneath looks good and everything drives fine so I can only image the pop was the sway bar moving under pressure from the tire. It barely touches on flat ground so I imagine it wouldn’t take much flex to contact it. I don’t really care if the tread contacts the bar a little bit especially since as the tires wear the clearance will increase but I’m not a fan of the side wall contact.

edit:The more I look at it using a spacer and dropping the front of the bar down 1/2” or whatever the spacer is might actually help it as it would push the ears at the link outboard and moving the bar slightly away from the tire. For $20 from pro tune I think I’ll give that a shot as it’s listed for 2-4” lift and I have 2.5”. Still open to any ideas.

wheel spacers will eliminate the rubbing.

Ah, you're correct, my bad. In that case take a flappy wheel to it, or I'd just let it rub still :D

I added a sway bar spacer and it gave me twice the clearance at the sidewall. Picture below is before and after the spacer and both sides after the spacer. The clearance at the tread is pretty much the same and it’ll rub slightly.

Would a +25 offset correct this issue? If you wanted to go that route.

My TRD front sway bar rubbed at the exact same two spots even though my wheels are -12 offset with 285/65r20 tires. It turned out the the factory (black hollow) sway bar was reinstalled upside down when they did my lift. I only realized it was upside down when I installed the TRD bar in the exact orientation as the black one was and noticed the TRD logo was upside down. After I reinstalled it the other way there was plenty of space.
