I just noticed that the driver side tailgate cable on my Limited feels fairly loose when the tailgate is down. Anybody experiencing the same thing?
The tailgate opens and closes fine and there seems to be no interference.

    Thanks

Is your tailgate bent or tweaked at all? If it's not square that could explain it.

Tailgate is square. After some quick measurements it appears the driver side cable is about 1/2" longer than the passenger side. I guess I'll take a trip to the dealer...

Ah, yeah. I'd get it swapped. It's square now but if it takes weight with different length cables I could see it not staying that way!

New Platinum and one of the first things I noticed was that driver’s side cable was longer.

Every truck I've owned has been the same. Have a quick seat on the tailgate and they both will become tight. No reason for replacement.

My 2015 Tacoma was not like this. Seating or steeping on the tailgate has little effect on how slack the driver side cable is.
Is the Tundra's dampened tailgate perhaps the reason?
