This is my tailgate liner install for my new 2023 Tundra. Nobody seems offer one. Probably because of the “ space age “ coating the factory gate has. But for my work it would get carved up pretty fast. I took my old one off my F250 which I traded in. I bought key tag washers from McMaster Carr that were perfect for the six shouldered sheet metal screws across the top of the gate. The 7/16” ID was perfect fit for the shoulder. I have a brake and used it to bend up the washers into clips. If you don’t have a brake, a pair of tongs and a non marring hammer will work fine. I used the same clips in the other two holes near the hinges( I took a sharp wood chisel to cope those two openings as that was just a flat part of the liner). Those have a standard shape underside head( no shoulder). Using two clips per screw really captured the liner. It’s going nowhere. Put black electrical tape over the existing holes to prevent a screw or whatever from falling down inside those voids. Sticky side up, then covered with two pieces sticky side down. So now that little hole topside in not going to have crap sticking to it. I couldn’t be happier with the entire result. The last photo is my shop made tailgate gap cover. A 2” aluminum piano hinge and some 1/8 thick aluminum. EZ Peezy.

Very nice! I like the hinge idea bc I get caught up all the time.
I end up buying aluminum plate and had it cut and powder coated, it’s a two piece so I can replace one if it gets banged up

Very nice. That was kinda my next option if I couldn't figure out the tailgate liner I eventually used. I was going to buy a sheet of Black HDPE Marine finish( pebble surface) sheet from McMaster Carr, and cut to size much like you did.
