2015 TRD 4x4 tailgate soft drop down not working. Truck still under extended warranty. Is this something that dealer will fix. Or is there an easy fix i can do. Thanks for suggestions

There is a shock located behind the left rear taillight.

There was a picture somewhere on here, but I couldn't find it. Even checked Google, but came up empty handed. Dealer should be able to cover if under warranty....

Takes 10 seconds to remove it if you want to just take it in and have them give you a new one. Not sure how a strut could fail, there is a weird bellows looking thing on the bottom maybe that failed (if it’s not just a dust cover), or maybe it just popped off the ball. Just need a 30 torx bit to remove the drivers side tail light and a flat head screw driver... remove it with the tail gate up...
