    I have a 2001 Access Cab SR5 4x4.

Not sure if I was searching right but has anyone done a telescoping steering wheel?

I'm looking at the sequoia but no definitive answers to the option or not.

I'm 6'7 and moving my seat father back with custom brackets to clear my legs and just wondering if I could just swap one over from another.

SO far the Tundras have tilt but not telescoping that I have found.

Just kinda want to confirm at this point before I just buy an extended hub.

    Thanks guys!

Any chance of you wanting to make brackets for a 3rd gen? 6'6" here. Its tolerable, but more room is always welcome.

Sorry, I dont know squat about installing a telescoping wheel. Good luck!

If you're talking about the seat brackets I'm not familiar with how the 3rd gen is set up.
Just take it to any fabricator and look at the bottom of the seats.
With the first-gen, you can grind, drill and use bolts.
I want a stronger base so I'm welding new ones from extra brackets I got at the junkyard.
So far I've done them on many of my cars and if all fails you just make a new bracket.
Not hard to do at all for any car.

I thought there is an adapter out there somewhere that will bring the steering wheel out further, it's not telescoping, but permanent. I'm not even sure the first gen had that option, but thinking out of the box.....I wonder if a steering column from a Lexus would work, or a steering column from a 07 and up, will it fit. I replaced the column in my first Gen. and sooooooo easy by the way.

OK back to this question again after going on alittle adventure up to Big Bear this past weekend.

Anyone else has an idea of which I should look into?
going to the junkyard to look for one that is close.

Any recommendations like 3rd gen 4runner or Lexus RX?

I honestly never thought of that. I'm 6ft and struggle in some vehicles. Kinda got acclimated to the seating position and steering in my truck but now you got me chewing on this.
If the 1st Gen Sequoia has the option I believe that would be best. After that I would start looking at Lexus LX470 or Landcruiser. There next large vehicles in Toyota line up

Yeah I'm 6'7 and I noticed that my knees keep hitting the dash, kinda put the mod on the back burner but after this weekend it's a must.
I'll keep a lookout and update this thread if I find something.

The seat brackets are easy to move back, just FYI.

I installed washers on the front section of the track. The added lean and lift supports my legs better so they don't get tired on long drives. A telescopic steering wheel would be perfect though. I'm restricted to my house for a little while due to surgery and can't go to the junkyard to investigate this but I will once I get better
