I was going through the morning routine and scrolling YT when this video popped up. I was shocked that he went for a used Tundra! Love this! The definition of putting your money where your mouth is! Also, made me very happy to hear what he paid vs what I paid about a year ago.

    Enjoy!

Yup, he basically bought the exact same truck I'm planning to buy minus the snorkel. Been a sucker for a voodoo blue tundra since the first time I have seen one and the pro with all of the color matched components is it for me.

Thats what I did! Looked long and hard at the 3rd gen, test drove, had several dealer offers, and then when the engine recall came out I was completely spooked. Found a low miles 2021 and that was that. Happy owner

I sat next to Andre on a plane from Denver to Chicago and we talked trucks for a bit. He had just bought the Colorado then. He was getting sweet on my cement 2019 TRDOR, really was a fan of Tundras. Nice guy.

I just watched this too and was surprised he went with used truck. I too considered the Gen 3, but just couldn't get past how much I love my old Gen 2, which is why I ended up with a low mile 2021. It's old design and simplicity are assets in my book. Funny how before the Gen 3 trucks came out, everyone used to bash how archaic the Tundra was. Now, everyone seems to want one, even Andre!

I hope the do more videos on Andre's Tundra and that he ditches the snorkel.

Too many bandwagoners hopped on the train. Honestly, if you want to be satisfied with the new gen Tundra, I myself would have just waited longer to pick one up.

I’m sure the 2nd gen was the same ordeal in many issues when it was brand new. I’m happy with my 2.5 gen but who’s to say I won’t be happy with a 3rd gen in about 5-10 years?

It's not the engine issues that really made me affirm my decision. It's that I borrowed a friend's 2022 for a week and drove it around on my usual commute and normal driving. I didn't like it as much as the older truck. It felt larger and more cumbersome, and had a long flat hood with a small windshield. The new truck rode a lot better, got better MPGs, but the turbo engine didn't really feel significantly stronger than the 5.7L. Overall, I just like the old trucks better, despite the fact the new ones are better in many metrics. I wasnt going to fork over huge cash for a truck I didn't really like. Then again I still love driving my old cars that are over 5 decades old. YMMV.

I was hoping he would have got the 1794 He test drove,
At least he did not get the rusty hitch one

Did I miss how much he paid for it? He only states $11K after his Colorado trade-in. Love the Voodoo blue and I think he made a great choice.

I'm a sucker for Voodoo Blue, but that snorkel made me throw up in my mouth.

    Just watched it.

That snorkel...I hope he gets rid of it. He seemed motivated to do so.

I was kind of rooting for the 1794, because, well...(see signature).

His TRD PRO though is awesome. I hope he enjoys it!

This is why I undercoat my vehicles annually

My dad passed his 2005 f150 to me when he passed away in 2015. By that time, rust had already consumed most of the frame. I learned from that experience & will never not undercoat our vehicles going fwd. Esp w vehicle prices soaring
