My 2020 Tundra is not my daily driver. It is parked outside and I am noticing some UV damage on the tires.

I do not like a tire shine that makes the tires look like you used olive oil. They shine too much. I have used some that seem to attract dirt. But I guess we all have an opinion on that.

Is there a product that is a UV protectant and goes easy on the shine. Lately I have tried Zaino Tire shine. https://www.zainostore.com/product/Z-16.html

It works good, but was hoping to find something I didn’t have to order by mail.

BTW: I have a car and boat trailer. The tires on trailer rarely seem to wear out and area subject to UV damage too.

    Any suggestions?

Yeah I own 4 vehicles and have trouble running a tire long enough to actually wear it down - so now I get New tires Every 6 years - no matter how good they look. It heartache seeing that much tread come off yet I have learned from experience what happens when a tire gets to about 9 yrs of age - little adhesion left especially on wet surfaces - like ice on ice.

I agree. I have a car I track. After 5 years, you would not want to go at speed on old tires. The Tundra and my trailer tires, I go a bit longer. Like you recommended 6 to 7 years.
But to the UV damage, I am sure it will help a bit to preserve the rubber.

I like the aerospace protectant and use it on the tires and inside plastics.

I bought this (Chemical Guys Hydro Shield) at a local Chemical Guys store and I have been really impressed with it on tires. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09S416Z4C I prefer Cerakote for exterior black plastic trim, but the Hydro Shield does a great job on tires. It gives a nice dark black color, but not shiny . Once it sets up, don't get oil or black on your finger if you swipe it. It is a bit pricey ($20), but a little goes a long way. I apply it to the sponge first and then wipe the tire.

Tire covers do this job very good. Being that it is not your daily driver, shouldn’t be too hard to take on and off.
