I have loved adding things to this truck for the last few months. Unfortunately my lift and all my crap do not allow me to fit in my garage. Anyone out there have ideas for securing my ditch lights and roof top tent to prevent theft in the middle of the night?

I’ve read a couple horror stories of accessories being stolen off vehicles in my neighborhood. :(

I cant say enough about security bolts. Check out Screwdsecurity.com. expensive but way cheaper than replacing parts. Also, get bright LED flood lights with cameras and park near it at night. Geeni brand is great and affordable. I love mine and have 5 around outside of my house. Comes with motion sensors and you can program an alarm zone at night so if anything comes in that area for more than a few seconds, a loud, godawful alarm goes off.
And because I am a fan of overkill, get a vibration alarm and put on your car at night. Mine is so sensitive, if you fart near it after some pork ribs, itll go off.

Edit: get some breakaway nuts for your ditches in addition to security bolts. If u ever need to take em off you can just remove the whole bracket if need be or cut grooves in the breakaway nuts and take em off.

Do your neighbors have any problems with your alarm going off on windy nights?
I’d never even seen breakaway nuts before. That looks like a really good way to go!

It never happened since I had the vibration alarm a very short time. It was on my exhaust system to prevent catalytic converter theft while I waited to receive and install my Valhalla sheild skid plates. Mine was sensitive because I used a magnet and a spring to mount on exhaust pipe. The low rate spring made it extremely sensitive. If you just slap the alarm by itself on the bottom of your RTT then it would only go off if someone was pulling on it or something to get it off or if they climb into your bed and the shocks compress.

Parking a few dog houses near the trucks helps. It would help even more if you had dogs in them.

Best security systems are some good alert dogs. While sometimes it bugs the hell out of me, my two dogs bark at anything or anyone that comes near the house they don’t recognize. I have no idea how they can tell, but they just know.

South Colorado Springs isn’t what it used to be and don’t blame you for being concerned.

If the RTT is removed, can your Pro fit in the garage?

Yeah Idk how you front rangers do it, the whole area from springs up to FOCO is one clustered theft ridden zone.

Pick up an outside motion detect camera from Wyse. They're inexpensive, ($25.00) and work super good.
Anything that breaks the programmed area will send an announcement to your phone instantly and record what transpired until you erase it on your phone.
I have three units; three on the inside of my place and one in the garage to let me know if the garage was left open.

Unfortunately no. The roof is just over 7 feet.

I think I’m going to have to do some kind of camera system. Does Wyse charge a monthly fee?

Blink is similar. I am grandfathered in to cloud storage for life, but most of them charge for storage now

I believe most do free local storage.

Buy a few of them and place them where they are noticable, do not try and hide them. If there is an option in the settings to have the red or blue light come on, enable that too. That way the thrives know they are on and recording.

Motion activated flood lights around your parking area will deter people too.

    Typical.

this go around I made sure I had 18x8 doors and 24’ deep was the min. Crazy what builders are charging and getting garages that Tacoma’s won’t fit in.

Yes and no…there's free tier where all footage is recorded on micro sd card that you need besides the camera. The monthly fee is not much if you want to store video on the cloud.
I have several Wyze cams at home and business and they work relatively well for the cost. One downside is there is no way to view on a pc or in a browser, it’s all done on your smartphone or tablet, unless you want to install some third party software.
