So the wifey has a conference in nashville in early september, and i'm trying to decide if i want to roll with.

She'll be busy most of the time, but just trying to figure out what there's to do by myself.....or if its better to wait to go again for a non work vacation.

I’ve only been to the airport. Missed my flight from Michigan to Texas. Uber’d to a bar, drank till it closed, Uber back, slept on the ground in the terminal and flew out in the morning.

My trip was a work trip.

I have been there a couple times. Easy to spend money there as they are proud of their food and drinks. First place I ever paid over $40 for a pizza and had a wagyu beef cheeseburger
It's a cool place though. The zoo is nice. Check out the Jefferson street music district.

    Hahaha
Seems like a lot of drinking would be in order for a solo mission. When she would have a conference in Vegas it was always easy to drink and people watch. Need to figure out what part of town the hotel is at.

    Oooo....me likey some bbq
Cool! I've always wanted to see all the cool music bars, but not sure how cool it would be solo.

I 2nd Martins BBQ. The other restaurant I would recommend is Puckets.

You could spend a couple hours in the country music hall of fame if your in to country music.

Musicians hall of fame isn’t bad either.

Lots of history if you go to the Capitol building and then down towards the farm market.

Lower Broadway is basically Gift shop, boot store, bar, and continues to repeat on both sides.

Get a milkshake from the Legendary Milkshake Bar - very good

Cooters Garage - Dukes of Hazard museum and store is near the Opry on the other side of town.

That should keep you busy for a while.

I generally avoid downtown like the plague. But if you like live music, checking out the honky tonks on lower Broadway is quite the experience.

I would also see who is playing at the Ryman or 3rd & Lindsley or what’s at the Frist museum. Check Bridgestone arena, Ascend amphitheater, CMHOF. Events galore in this town.

My favorite thing about this area is the sheer number of hiking trails and waterfalls within a two hour drive. Volunteer Trail by Percy Priest is great. Narrows of the Harpeth is a good, short trail with excellent views. Burgess Falls or Fall Creek Falls are worth seeing, too.

There is a metric ton of great food here, from spendy seafood (The Optimist) to steak (Kayne Prime) to foodie (City House, Lockeland Cafe) to cheap street tacos (El Amigo on Nolensville Pike).

The Corvette Museum is 45 min north in Bowling Green, KY, too.

Do what the locals do - bitch about tourist and the unaffordable housing.

Look for someone who looks like a record executive and try to sell him your next album - don’t have one - don’t worry - they weren’t gonna let you do any of your songs anyway. As long as you look the part - they got someone to write songs for you and someone to sing them for you too.

Lots of good food around - check the places listed. A lot of good music venues too if country is your thing. There’s a little of everything but it’s relatively higher priced (for being in the south) and on weekends it can be a complete shit show of out of towners and bachelorette parties in the bars.
