Hello, My third Brake Light on Mt 2007 Tundra CrewMax stopped working. I have the Electrical diagram for trouble shooting. However I dont know where the conectors are located and how the Wire runs to the Light int the headliner. Any Help would be appreciated to where to start testing?

Yes Checked Bulbs, The two Lower back Lights Work. No Voltage at third Brake Light when brake Pressed. The Wiring Diagram Show a common Point Connector to look at, I Just Don't know where the Connectors are Located. I need the Diagram that shows the Connector Locations on the Truck.

    Sorry can't help.

I would think it would just be from the brake pedal switch. Maybe the switch has some worn out contacts. Something to try if not too expensive.

Hopefully someone else can chime in.

    Welcome from NY.

Did you check the light socket itself, the wire could have come off or corrosion from water?

Good luck, let us know the outcome.

There is a switch next to your steering wheel that turns it on/off...I’d check that first...

Thank You, the Wiring Diagram will help. How do the Body connections cross reference to the Stop Light Electrical Diagram: A40(A),A41(B) Junction Connector and AP2 going to High Mount Stop Light?

Update: found connector I was looking for under Drivers Left Kick Panel. Wire to third brake light was in wrong Pin. Moved to correct location on Plug all good now.

The Wire was in the Wrong Position as I had a Dealer do some Trouble shooting for me, I was blowing the Stop Fuse during Hard Braking. All Brake Lights would go out and loose the ability to shift out of Park until I changed the fuse. Turned out to be My Brake Controller was shorting to Ground and leaking through the wire insulation at higher Currents. I guess the Tech during trouble shooting removed the wire to check for short to third brake light. But put the wire back in the wrong pin position. The Dealer was helpful in telling me where the connector was and then i figured it out. The hard part was trying to figure out how to remove the pin and move it.

Any chance you could describe which harness and its position in it?

Im having issues with mine to. Lower brake lights work. The cargo lights that are next to it work.

I pulled the entire light cover Assembly and put my dmm to the wires directly and there's no voltage when petal is pressed.

Sadly I'm not even sure how long its been broken.

Anyone know if the OEM trailer brake is tied into the high mount brake light? Trying to diagnose my trailer is how I noticed the light was dead.

The connector is located on the Driver side kick panel 2007 Tundra. It is at the very bottom near the floor - AP2 . The male part of the plug comes off and you can check for voltage before going up to the third brake light.

so I have the same problem but I'm getting no power up to the cargo/third brake light. I know there is a switch in the cab, tried that, changed all the bulbs, and the fuse (7.5 #40 interior fuse box) but I'm still getting nothing. Is there are any inline fuses or connections that could have caused this. I used a multimeter to test for continuity, OL, the voltage also zero? does anyone get any insight or solutions?

This is the harness....it's about 12 inches long if that.

Thank you so much for your reply. To be clear, you're saying I should remove the housing from outside, and I'll be able to remove and replace that harness then right? , Thanks again.

    Sounds like a ground issue.
Have you tested the bulb sockets for brake and cargo light power with a multimeter?
Possible the roof connector came loose but doubtful unless you'd had it apart at some time.

    upload_2025-4-10_18-8-11.png

You'll be able to remove the lens for bulb replacement from the outside.
The light housing itself mounts from the inside I think.
    Doesn't it @Tundra234 ?

Yes, the housing mounts to the cab with 2 nuts under the headliner.

Thanks ya'll I appreciate it. I've ordered the harness. I'll let ya know if it resolves the issue once it arrives and I get a little time to put it on.
