I find the throttle response on Normal and ECO mode extremely annoying. Has anyone figured out a way to make Sport mode the standard when you turn on the truck? I know I could go the pedal commander route but was hoping there is an easier way. Between turning off Auto start/stop and dialing to sport mode everytime I turn on the truck it’s starting to feel like I’m going through a damn launch sequence for the space shuttle.

I put the Banks unit on and it made a big difference. I have it on City +4 and it is pretty jumpy. Sport setting on the Banks is insane. Roasts the tires so easy...

Lol that’s funny. I didn’t actually mean the Pedal Commander unit specifically I thought that’s what those types of units were called I just meant some kind of “Throttle Controller”.

How badly do the throttle controllers kill your mpg?

Didn’t hurt the mpg that bad. The 35’s did the worse damage

I got this one. Didn’t really need to spend all that money on a pedal commander. It was good. Very easy to install and you can adjust it on the fly and don’t need a phone or anything. I had it on setting 1.2 and it took the lag out of the pedal for sure. I didn’t have a problem with it at all

    Lots of stuff!
Back in the day our TDI was tuneable by sticking a variable resistor inline with the pedal. Just had figure out which wire to add it to! Cost about $3 and a few minutes to install it.

Then you could make your own adjustments. I guess this works the same way but you get a nice interface to make the adjustment for you.

Huh So a Raxiom Speedform series throttle controller eh? (spelled it out for the search algorithms to find later). Report back with any problems you have or start a new thread for that specific brand. Odd they list compatibility for 07-24, seeing how there were major difference in the 22+ 3ed gens. One would think it wouldn't' work across all years. Wonder if its a different model for the third gens or not. I personally would be really cautious on no-name units like this but hey it isn't stupid if it works.... or as long as it keeps working.

Don't understand the hate for Pedal Commander. I've used their product on my last several vehicles with excellent, reliable results.

There may be a way to do what op wants. But it depends on how the truck receives the input signal. Kinda like the auto stop start disabler. A pulse timer could be triggered with ignition to send a signal the same as turning the knob. All depends if the knob sends data, ground, or resisted ground.

On my 911 I choose a module sold by a Porsche forum member that does just that. He sold two versions of the module. One disables the Auto Start Stop by using the ASS button. The other achieved the same goal by auto selecting sport mode, which automatically disabled ASS. Currently though I did some performance upgrades and as part of the tune, I requested the ASS to be disabled. Hopefully some enterprising person will do the same for our Tundra.

Did you ever figure out a way to make Sport mode the standard when you turn on the truck? I'm also tired of switching it every single time.

Sport mode also disables auto stop start, so basically Toyota has it hard coded to revert to normal mode because of that I believe.

You could possibly use a tr7 (pulse timer relay) to trigger the rotary selector when the key is turned on. Similar to the stop/start module you can get. Maybe even hardwire o e of those. I do not know what sends or how it sends a signal to the ECU though so use at your own risk.

Yeah I never tested it to know for sure, but I did read some info in the tech data and there are some stop and start restrictions in sport mode, but to be honest there are like 20 different variables in regards for stop and start to happen or be prohibited.
