Looking to get new tires put on my 2008 Tundra.

    275/55 R20

Deciding between the Michelin Defenders and the BFG KO2.

Not much (if any) off road but we do get our fair share of rain here in Seattle...I also tow a trailer a few times a month (8k pounds or so +/-) So that plays a role into the tires as well.

Looking for a quieter ride than what I have on the truck now...Was looking at these two based on review that i have read - Would be open to other suggestions.IMG_2260.jpgIMG_2261.jpgIMG_2262.jpgIMG_2261.jpg IMG_2262.jpg

Love my Michelin Defenders. Great in all conditions and wear well. Best tire I’ve ever had honestly. Not “trucky” looking but I don’t care because my highest priority is a quiet tire.

    Alot of them
Michelin. BFG's are stone magnets and often have balancing issues.

Michelins are the best dude, feel/touch the tire and you can feel how much better the Michelin rubber is.

Get the Michelin Defenders. The BFG's are nice. The defenders are great in all conditions(unless you have snow up to your hubs) and they are pretty quiet.

While I am fond of BFG’s, based on your listed personal criteria the Michelins are the clear winner.

The Defenders are the best truck tires out there unless you do a lot of off-roading. Every all terrain tire out there compromises on-pavement performance in order to get more bite in off-pavement situations.

I know I sound like a broken record on the BFGs, but I will never recommend them to anyone who doesn't live in a desert. Their tight tread pattern is awful at clearing mud, and many, many, many people report that their rubber turns hard and weird at around 20k miles, and they become downright terrifying on wet pavement. Most people who really like them live somewhere like SoCal or AZ.

I run Defenders on my LX. They are fantastic–quiet, great traction, excellent tread life, towing, wet situations, you name it. Maybe not for mud I suppose.

K02s are notorious for having issues in the rain. Michelin Defenders or 10-ply Michelin AT2s would be your best bet

I have the Michelin Defenders, though the 295's. Quiet, and do really well in the rain and wet, and pretty darn good in the snow and icy conditions( our current weather). Pretty bland to look at, but the simplicity of the look has grown on me quite a bit.

If you want quiet ride, definitely go with Michelin Defenders. We have have them on my wife's car, they're super quiet and wear very well. I used to have Toyo RT tires on our Sequoia, I loved the look and it was a good tire. I recently put on Michelin LTX AT2. Although not as aggressive looking, they are so much smoother and quieter.

I live about an hour north of Seattle and I vote Defenders. My father has had 3 sets of them on his 2012 Tundra. They’re quiet and handle PNW weather really well! He also tows a 26 foot camper trailer and a 21 foot aluminum boat without issue.

As an alternative, I purchased Cooper AT3 XLT’s about 6 months ago and have been impressed with how quiet they ride and how well they perform in rain.

I have had four sets of KO2s and I have never had an issue with the rain or wet driving. They do great in the mud. But since you are not off-roading the Michelins are the clear winner.

Michelin Defenders. I have used them on multiple vehicles for over 15 years. The couple of times I have tried something else I was disappointed. I wish my trim would have come with them. As it is, I will soon be replacing my OEM tires (Bridgestone I think) with Defenders.

I love the Toyo Open Country ATIII that are on my truck. The wet road traction is WAY better than the Goodyear wrangler duratracs that were on it from the dealer. They are extremely quiet compared to the duratracs and do well offroad. I have been extremely pleased with Toyo and will be going with the Toyo R/T trails when I purchase new wheels. I hope this input helps a bit.

I always had Michelin Defenders on my 2005.
    They are awesome tires.

My 2014 came new with 285/55/20 KOs.
    I then replaced them with 275/60/20 KO2s.
The KO and KO2s get louder as they wear.
As @tripleconpanna stated they hold and throw some pretty big rocks.

I've been running these Goodyears in 275/60/20 for the last year.
I actually went in to buy Cooper AT3 XLTs, but the salesman suggested these.
At the time they Goodyears were $50 ea cheaper than the Coopers.

A nice compromise between a road and AT tire with an aggressive sidewall.
They are a Discount Tire exclusive tire.
I've been very happy with them.
Not a bad price in your size either @ $244 each.

Oops, I was a little late with my recommendation..
I think you did well with the Michelins..

The SL rating will give you a smoother ride than a KO2 D or E..
