Is there a specific thread for tire sizes?

I have a 2020 TRD Pro , the stock tires are about shot and time for new ones.
    They are 275 65 18.

I am looking for something aggressive looking like most people, also not too loud on the roads. I live upstate NY where there is alot of snow. Looking at the Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

I have seen some posts about people putting different sizes on it. But I do not want any rubbing or messing up the speedometer or any computers/sensors.

Any suggestions on size that will not rub or mess anything up or is my best bet to go default size. Would love to go slightly larger.
    Thanks for any feedback.
    Vic

I Just put on 275/70 BFG KO2. My wheels are a +25 offset, had to remove the front flap. But check the thread linked above for all sizes and lift configurations

    Thank you both.
This is what I see on that thread for my truck.

Second Gen (2007-2013) and Third Gen (2014+) Tundra
    No Lift Kit
    Max tire sizes are:
    • 18″ rims: 285/65 R18 – 5/10ths taller and 4/10ths wider than factory. Trimming may be necessary.

So this means I can go up to 285 width without issue but I dont think that brings the height up any, why would it be 5/10 taller.

285 is the width. 65 is the ratio of width to side wall height. So 65% of the width will be the sidewall height. You make it wider and keep the same 65% ratio, it's also gonna be taller.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=275-65r18-285-65r18

also, once you get a tire size that you want, look at 3peak snowflake rated tires if you dont want to run dedicated winter tires for the snow. BFG KO2, Cooper Disco AT3, Falken WP AT3W, Toyo OC AT3, General Grabber, Mickey Baja Boss AT, etc are some of the tires that fit this designation (in most sizes). Any change to size and weight will throw off your speedo, fuel consumption, and driving "feel"
A more aggressive AT tire is going to be louder, firmer, and heavier than your stock tires. if you can keep things under 55lbs per tire, you shouldn't notice too much of a difference in feel, but depending on size, your instrument panel will be affected.

great information. thank you for the link, looks like not much difference. I definitely dont want dedicated snow tires, Just a decent aggressive looking tire for normal driving then good in the snow during winter.

Since you have a PRO - your truck comes stock with a 2" front suspension lift vs other Tundras. You can fit a 295/70/r18 (34"x12") in your truck (with most tires, the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT is the widest for that size and heaviest) without any trimming cutting or anything else except removal of the forward "front" mudflap that honestly serves no purpose that i've seen. The mickey will rub your front sway bar, and leave a ¼" (on a good day) of space clearing your UCA.
    A 285/75r18 (34.8" x 11.8") may require some trimming. But nothing major.
A 285/70r18 will fit very well, and look pretty awesome/agressive on your truck. Very pricey, heavy, and large. Will definitely affect your requirements of "sensors & computers". but won't be detrimental to the drivability or reliability of your truck (the checkbook will get a little smokey with the extra gas, but thats about it). There are programmers that can adjust your speedometer based on tire size increase.

great info again. Thank you again.
So with a 285/70r18 I would not need to remove the mud flap or anything else and no rubbing/trimming tire correct ? I see its a little more of a difference with the speedometer but that will not negatively influence the the truck besides gas mileage (im only getting about 14-16 now but I don't really care about that). That sounds like its what I would like to get. I will update my other post to see if there are any pics of my truck with those tires on it. This is why I love the power of forums, It would have taken me many hours to find this info and unlikely it would be this good.

You're welcome. You would likely need to remove the forward facing front mudflap. It's very small.
I believe @RusPro21 runs a ridge grappler in this size on his 2021 pro. Check his build, or maybe he'll chime in from his tag.

I've read Ridge Grapplers are not that good in snow.

Myself running 275/70R-18 General Grabber A/TX, no questions in deep snow. They are slightly bigger (33"), but the speedo is not lying.

No, TRD OR, but the wheel params are exactly the same. Wife drives TRD PRO Sequoia, I've swapped PRO wheel to my OR Tundra for test and decided I don't mind OR wheels.

On my stock Pro I run 285/70/18’s no rubbing issues at all. You can leave the flaps on. I’m now lifted with the westcott lift and still keeping my 285’s.

One thing I always forget to mention is that if you liked how your Michelin LT/X drive and you don't do offroad too often, better get a P-rated tire. It looks as aggressive, however it is much lighter, which is good for MPG and softer ride. All LT tires are stiff by design.

Taller, but not wider. So bigger in some respects.

First number is width. 285 is 10 mm wider than 275.

thank you. looks good to me. Hey RusPro21, you said you run the 285/70R18's on your pro. It says you have a 21, is everything the same as a 2020 ?
You did not have to trim or remove anything and it fits on that oem wheel correct ?

    what tires are they ?

vtl - do you have a recommendation for a p rated tire that looks as aggressive in 285/70/R18 ? Im guessing the grabbers are not P rated.

There are only (to my knowledge) 6 tires offered in the 285/70r18 sizing. All LT and mud terrain, all-terrain.
