    Hi members,
I have a trd limited tundra 2023 with manufacture tires size 265/60r20. Can I go up to 285/60r20 without getting a lift kit? Has anyone in the forum done like this? Any issues while driving, turning or off road?

I don't see why not. I thought these new tundras could fit 33's or maybe 35's without a lift. I could've sworn that was the big selling point that YouTubers were making upon their initial test drives

Quite a few people have put 35's on their non-lifted Tundras. I have 33's on mine with zero issues

I have 275/60r20s on mine, but am going to 285/60r20 in a couple months. The width is the issue from my understanding. The stock wheels offset works with 11.5” and under tire width.

What tire sizes 285/60r20 are equalized to inches tire size? And I don’t think I would get lifted cuz it is gonna interfere with manufacture suspension since I do have TRD package don’t want to visit service center if something goes wrong cuz of lift kit. Thank all for reply. Any pictures currently to upload for bigger tires anyone?

A lot of people use tools like to compare OEM (265/60 r20 +60) in your case to a larger size. It will give you the imperial measurements as well.

Just stick with p rated 33s, much lighter , better riding , better mpg , etc, they look great and only a smidge bigger than stock

    that’s my .02

My platinum had 20” rims and 265/60/20 tires which are around 32.5” i think.

i bought some 20x9 wheels and Nitto Ridge Grappler 295/60/20 tires. They are basically 34” tires and 20” wheels set up.

No lift. No rubbing. Barely touching the carpet liner at absolutely full turn. Zero issue.

MPG is around 15 driving around the city in eco mode. Lol

    Nice truck upgrade.
Do you have mud guard removed after you got tires installed?
also, how do you feel about Nitto Ridge Grappler tires on the road? Are they good tires any noise and tread wear concerns?
if you don’t mind take a closer imagea on those installed tires?
It looks really nice without getting lift causing suspension damage.

I never noticed there are mud flaps lol. But I didn’t remove anything.

I never had AT tires so can’t really comment on noise level. They are slightly louder than stock but don’t bother me at all. Hardly noticeable.

whats really noticeable compared to stock tires is the fact that 295 is much wider and the fact these are AT. So they feel much grippier if that makes sense. More road contact for sure.

I thought about doing a small lift 2-3” but my truck has AVS set up so it would be too complicated. Separately I wouldn’t do a huge lift anyway since my wife is short and I have a young kid so I’m happy with the height and how 34” look on mine.

I went with 275/60r20s as well. I didn't want any "poke" to sling mud all over the sides, and I didn't want to sacrifice too much mileage. Personally, I think they are the perfect size for a non-lifted stock Tundra.

Not sure what you mean when you say “stuffed”

When I make full left turn and full right turn, i can hear the tires touching the carpet liner sometimes. Not every time. However i dont think its a huge issue since theres room behind the liner so i could zip tie or somehow tape it to the metal part behind the liner

"Stuffed" is a 4 wheeling term that means the suspension is fully compressed and the tire is up into the wheel well as far as it will go. That's when you're likely to rub the worst, especially when the wheels are fully turned left or right ("full lock").

    Hope this helps,

    Matt

    I see. Thanks for explaining.
I dont go offroad. This truck will be used for getting grocery and supplies from home depot, and daily commute between home and office and daycare picking up and dropping off my kid.

perhaps in the future when i take it offroad i will need to do a suspension lift or something to create clearance

I went with the BFG KO2s because I've had great luck with them in the past. They have a D load rating and drive nice.

As long as you understand the limitations of your setup and your intended use. Even with a lift, you can run into problems/start rubbing with large tires and just slight compression.

I have some very off-cambered sections of road on my property that cause a bit of articulation or flex around tight corners and switchbacks. I don't want to spend much time modding my fender walls to eliminate rubbing so I'm likely limited to 33s for the time being.

Any reason you chose the KO2's instead of the new K03's?

I didn't know the KO3s had been released other than for Ford or Chevy or whoever is getting them OEM.

ETA - checked website, still no KO3s. You thinking of the KM3?

You assume our wheel/tire combos with plus sized tires are all 25-30 lbs heavier per corner ;)

If I go with a particular set of 33s, I'm only 0.4" diameter greater than OEM, yet 5 lbs per corner lighter. It'll likely be a wash.

But my truck also isn't a pavement princess..

I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
Whatever the hell they want, it's their unique truck.

If they're only running around town why even bother with a truck at all? Get a cargo van OR see above response to quote.
