I've been looking for a topper for my 04 DC. I found a snugtop near me, same color as my truck but it's missing the back glass. $100 for the topper but I can't seem to find the backglass anywhere.

Has anyone had any luck searching for topper glass anywhere? The little research I was able to find was that it possibly costs several hundred dollars...

Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated.

$100 is cheap, buy it and figure it out later. Chances are you will run into another topper online (offer up or Facebook marketplace) in poor condition or missing a side window but with a good back glass.

what brand is the topper you are buying and style name.

Finding one that is color match led in your area is rare specially as they are growing in popularity .

I paid $800 for my topper used and color match from offer up. (snug-top brand) and I thought that was a deal. Bought new latches, struts and a 3rd brake light for it.

Is it just the glass thats missing or the entire back window unit including the frame?

If just the glass I would think that any glass shop can replace it whether you can figure out how to or not?

If the frame is also gone this might be a tougher challenge but even then an decent fabricator can likely come up with a solution I would bet?

I can say from personal experience, this is not a good idea lol. I did the same thing and later found my $200 topper required an $1100 piece of glass that had been discontinued.

While I had it, I called a local topper store
to ask them if the about the back glass. He told me not only had it been discontinued but it was also ‘curved’ so you could not duplicate it. He said most people leave it as is or cut a piece of sheet metal out but it will never seal. As we started BS’ing, he told me he had a topper for a FGT and he couldn’t wait to get rid of it. He said our trucks are very specific and no other topper interchanges. I offered
Him $400 and he took it.

I can’t remember the brand the first one was but it was a well known brand. You can see the piece of rubber that was cut for the back window.

I replaced it with a LEER 100R. It has a ‘flat glass’ inside a frame that any glass shop can cut for $100.

Below are the differences between the two. As you can see the frameless/curved glass is more slick and exotic looking but it’s mucho dinero to replace. The framed version is flat and cheap/easy to replace.

Had to replace rear glass on my ARE CX topper awhile back. Could only get it replaced with the entire frame. $450 new from dealer, for reference.
