    Here's a quick video of me pulling our Toy Hauler over some smaller mountains in WV. I'm no expert, but figured I'd make a video displaying various temperatures for information's sake.

    Cheers and thanks for watching.

    Appreciate the effort and posting this information! I have always wondered about the actual temps. I just haven't taken the time to set up a gauge.

    What would be interesting is if you could do a visual to show how the 200-205 temp matches up with where the bar graph shows trans temp on the dash.

    Unfortunately I have the analog gauges and they only show coolant temps (with no numbers just cold, good, and bad lol).

    Appreciate the video…
    I towed my camper to VT, NH, ME 2 years ago and my F150 3.5L EcoBoost transmission regularly pushed 235-240F. I took it in and the dealer replaced the thermostat… it still ran hot going into Northern Michigan last summer. I’d be thrilled if I only ran 200-210F in my Tundra while towing in mountains.

    @Spartanfam I assume that you are going to be pulling your FC25'. We are tossing the idea around of moving to that length from our 22' to get more living space. Please let me know how the Tundra does with that trailer. Ours pulls great and is super stable. The Tundra is a beast when it comes to towing so I suspect that you will have a good experience.

    @ThomperBeThompin Do you have a way to measure the trans temp? Like a scan gauge or app? I looked at the video and it looks like an app of some sort (I had the volume turned off on the video)

    @PBNB
    Yes we bought the 2024 Tundra to tow our 25FBQ. The tongue wt is listed as 875lbs but I installed LiFePO4 batteries to replace the lead acid and it dropped 50+ lbs. I measured the tongue at 800lbs even. I will be picking it up from storage in March and towing itin April… after towing with my friends 2023 Tundra I’m expecting noticeable benefits over my 2017 F150… which was good, but i had a lot of mechanical issues with my Ford so it was time to cut bait.
    Will respond after our trip…

    In general, if you do upsize your Airstream, the dual axles will be a noticeable difference for you likely. I wanted the 23 but my wife (& I) liked the open feeling of the 25FBQ and larger bed. It’s our forever camper so we got the size we wanted for the long haul… hope to tow out your way (BC) some day!

    The 25 looks like a great size. I do like the single axle for its ease to pull and it is a great size for the Tundra in many respects. The layout in the 25 just provides more interior space especially on those rainy days.
