    OK,

Fair warning..I'm going to be a cranky F@@k for a few months ..

The OFFICIAL word is that we can NOT rebuild on our property..... new Flood zone rules  :(

RV pad or one hell of a fishing spot  to be determined BUT now the "House search" has begun..

We visited Dunedin this past weekend and Con fell in love with it BUT we are also looking at maybe going back Center;either Lake or Polk county..

Anyone living in those areas has freedom to speak , what's the Good & the Bad... :boink::boom:

    Not as of now..

The Army Corp. "directs" what happens along the Caloosahatchee since it is the Intercoastal Waterway and they are setting grade stakes along our seawall ,Riva' side ...those of us directly on it are "on hold" at best..

I asked Lee county about rebuilding and the 50% rule screws me.. that means Build New according to Codes and raise a New home at least 4' .. and that is ONLY if permitting is allowed ..

We are "House hunting" as we can not wait for Government "red tape" to decide our future... Our kids want us to keep the land if possible and I will BUT for now Life Moves On..:hattip:

Hey man. I’m sorry to hear this. I knew this was coming. It sucks because they are gonna let the big developers have their way and all the little people are gonna get screwed. Ocala is nice. Near any of the hot springs would be awesome. Good luck with everything.

I'd be more than happy to relocate my neighbor for him if he'd like to come to Texas. We are located on the high side of the Colorado river so there isn't any flooding to worry about (at least in the historic district).

We are going to live our lives..

As the insurance progresses our decisions will be made...

What sucks is our nice little co-op is about to "Blow-up"... A few are :stirthepot: and then others are :notsure::notsure:....

Tom, sadly your idea of a rich speculator swooping in will probably be the only saving recourse we all would agree on.. Some folks have no interest in even coming down and might just walk away...

Con & I can't get caught up in that...LIFE goes on and house shopping has begun ;);)

Find a nice property in the county so you don't have to deal with city rules or people, and it's quite nice at times. Snow comes with the territory. Makes parking lot donuts loads of fun!

Met up with @Azblue at the world famous Buffet bar and crockpot. It was a mellow crowd, but I think he was impressed by the crowdedness for a Monday afternoon, lots of “professionals” there.
