I've noticed the really good stuff like Micklethwaits Craft Meats or when I've smoked some brisket doesn't give us the burps. Hell, I start burping at Rudy's before I even finish giving the cashier my order...

 

Are burps bad? I enjoy my smoked burps, it’s part of the experience

Nope, I don't like to eat food and then taste it for 3 days afterwards. There's a greek place that I love but I'd literally be burping gyro for 4 days after having it...

Maybe that's it.
The only BBQ that didn't do that was my FIL's stuff, but he passed a few years ago.
As well when we go to high-end foo-foo BBQ places it tastes better and digests much easier..

Seems like some of the local fast food stuff around here (mainly Soulman's) might use liquid smoke, that's what the belching tastes like.
I've never used it myself, but I'm guessing that might be what's going on..

Were it a standard schedule it would suck. As it stands, having a week off between the flip makes it pretty good. So far, no fires.

Why are you up at this hour? Also working nights, or just insomnia?
