Hey all! I’m new and have a question. On my 2008 Tundra, 166,000 miles, 5.7L, I’m needing to replace my radiator. Looking around online briefly I’ve come across Koyorad radiators and have been thinking about buying one. Anyone have any recommendations or have used Koyorad or used another radiator that worked great for them. Koyorad doesn’t have a phone number and hasn’t been responsive yet to any questions I’ve emailed them about so I’m losing faith and want to get going on this. Thanks all!

Never heard of them but alot of companies are still closed. What about an OEM? I think they are around $280. @Roman can help you out with a cost.

I never even considered that they may be closed. Glad you brought that up and thanks for the recommendation. I’ll look into that. Thank you so much!

The OEM one lasted 166K miles so why not just get another OEM one.

Does anyone make a 'performance' radiator for the 5.7L?

I have a 2002. My original factory radiator lasted 308k.

I slid off the road, and the impact rattled everything enough to cause a small leak in my radiator. Luckily, the deer guard I have saved me from totalling my truck as I was going just fast enough to engage airbags. (Icey conditions are NG.)

I ordered an OEM unit shipped to the house on 3 different occasions. Each time it was always damaged. Sent back, and got my money back.

Finally, I ordered one through a parts store (autozone, O'Reilly's, etc.) and had it shipped to the store. No damage on that unit.

Installed it, and leak went away. Been good for the last 4k.

I replaced the one in my '02 with OEM a little over a year ago, it's working well.

Denso from Rockauto, $126.79. Mine's been good for 25k miles so far.

Always go with OEM parts if available, and affordable.

Aftermarket parts are often junk, and mostly remanufactured with low quality trash components (I know, I sold parts and managed Corporate parts stores for several years) unless it's aftermarket reputable performance products for special applications, those usually rock.

With OEM, you know it will be right, and work as intended, for a long time.

As long as it arrives in good condition, sorry about your luck @Tundra2, that really sucks man.

Maybe try local dealerships if they will price match, in the future.

The "local" dealerships are just a little over an hour away for me. Brick, and mortar parts store is 20 minutes away. I paid roughly $15 more than ordering OEM from dealer, and did not pay shipping.

That was a while ago. All things are still good.

Order it to the parts store!

The shipping people for whomever you use are more delicate with parts going to the store because to them its a retail item.

They don't typically know that its already paid for.

What he said, just replaced my oem rad this past winter had a pinhole leak. I would recommend a drain and flush solution as well b4 you install new rad.

You can also get a CST radiator. It's an aluminum performance radiator. I like the aluminum rads because the odds that they will leak are super low.

I do like Denso parts. Some are OEM with some manufacturers.

JBA shorty headers / Koyorad stainless radiator / Belltech street performance lowering struts, shocks / Airlift 72000 wireless air leveling compressor / Firestone air bags.
No luck with Koyorad! Various members including myself have had leaks and of course mine was just out of warranty….
