Here is another option for you, but they are not adjustable.

I didn't have the 6 inch version, but have the 3 inch. They lasted roughly 100k miles before they blew all the shock oil out in my wheel wells. They havent been bad, but not the most comfortable ride. I paid less than 500 dollars for mine and feel like that was a pretty decent price for an adjustable coilover with 700 pound springs.

Are you talking about the Procomp Mx2.75 coilovers? I've tried finding them separate from the stage 2 kit but have had zero luck.

Yep, just got mine delivered today. Set at 2.75". The 6 inchers can be problematic depending on wheel offset, back spacing, lift brackets, and whether using stock UCA's or aftermarket.

Ok, We (my shop) has installed all different configurations that we're discussing here. Here's our findings...
    1. We installed the FBG 3" coilovers on my shop truck to level the front. Ride was great, similar to OEM, just a tad stiffer. By stiffer, I mean more control, less roll.. Good stiffer LoL
    2. We had installed a 6" lift and tried using these coilovers, along with the 6" lift kit spacers on top (none in the preload as the coilovers were already there) in the build. They worked, but made it ride crazy stiff. I mean, it rode like shit, like chatter your teeth out stiff. The geometry change along with these coilovers would not work. We installed many lifts, including 2 other Tundras with the spacers, and none were as stiff as it was when the spacers and these coilovers were paired up. We loved these coilovers, just not stacked with a full lift.
    3. Rough Country 6" Lifted strut install. We used the OEM coil spring, no preload spacer (per instructions) and no top out spacer. Just the coil and the strut. We couldnt wait to drive it after we put the truck back down on the ground. The ride is awesome to say the least. It is a comfortable, controlled ride. The only thing making it a little on the rough side now, are the 37's... They're heavy. Other than that, we couldnt be happier. For the price, everyone tends to shy away, but we are a RC dealer, so we figured we'd give them a shot. So glad we did. Such an improvement.

Was that the FB branded shock or the FB Bilstein as you show in your picture?

The one in the pic is an FB shock, with custom internals.

Have y'all installed the FBG 6" coilovers? We're they not available when you installed a fbg 3" coilover with the spacer?

We bought the 3" just to level up the truck. Ran them for a little while, then decided to go the full 6" lift. I opted away from the 6" for 2 reasons... One was price vs the 6 RC lifted strut, Two was the fact that we never bothered to adjust the 3", and I doubt we'd ever go under to adjust the 6". Why buy a 6" lifted coilover, just to always be under there messing with the collars. I figured Fukit, just get the 6" and be done.

The first picture of the shock laying on a box clearly says Bilstein on it and your quote about putting FB 3" on your company truck does not say which one you put on the truck--Bilstein or the FB branded. I assume you are saying it was FB branded. I agree that it may not be worth paying for the adjustment collar--I can almost buy the 6112 for what the FB Bilstein costs. Same for the toytec 5100 with the adjustment collar. Too much money for just the ability to adjust IMO.

They are the same shock. Its an FB body with Bilstein internals... They were a custom build. These are not 6112's nor are they 5100's. They are a FB shock body, revalved and tuned.
I agree about it being too much money to just have the adjustment... Especially considering we never used the adjusters... They came outta the box at 2.5", and that's where we left them.

That explains it the Bilstein sticker then.

On another note, what strut mounting kit (top-plate and hardware for assembling a strut without using the old ones) is closest to the Toyota original including quality? I see KYB, Monroe, etc. The Toyota parts are pretty pricy. I don't want to buy junk. I am going to buy Bilstein 6112 and assemble a set before I pull off the factory coils.

I dont think you can go wrong with KYB, I thought Bilstein made one too.
