I have a 08 Tundra Crew Cab and I’m continuing to have TPMS Light issues. I had all 4 sensors replaced and the lights still came on. The shop told me that they didn’t know why as the scanner recognizes all sensors and using the DLC connector also recognizes the frequency. Nevertheless the TPMS fault indicator continues to flash. Any tips, tricks or recalls?

I've had a shop which couldn't perform the process and referred me to the dealership. Mine told me they needed the truck for a couple hours and probably $180. I told them to pound sand.

I've also been told Discount tire will fix it on the cheap, or even gratis if you're lucky.

Wish I could personally confirm, but I have yet to make it into the discount tire.

Did you replace the sensors with OEM or aftermarket sensors?

Did the installer do a relearn on your truck?

America’s Tire replaced them and it was fine for a week then the light came back on. I’ve taken it back 4 times and they can’t seem to reset the TPMS System

Please take a look at your invoice, and let me know which sensors they installed (manufacturer, model, etc.). I'll try to help you as best as I can, but I need a little more information.

Those are good quality sensors - the same sensors that we use, and the same sensors that I have in my truck.

Do you know whether they cloned your old TPMS sensors or created new sensor identification codes for the new HUF sensors?

Personally purchased OE sensors for like $350 (with a discount at the dealership) and Pep Boys was not able to pair with my vehicle despite "seeing them" in their device.

The ECU might be stuck in closed loop mode, which requires a particular reset procedure (not the same as a relearn). It's a very easy fix. I'd recommend that both you and @08_TundraCrew ask your installer to do an ECU reset and then a relearn. I'm pretty certain this will fix the problem so long as the sensors themselves aren't defective. HUF sensors and OEM Toyota (Pacific) sensors are not likely to be defective.

    Appreciate it.

Hope I can remember this whenever I finally get my light taken care of (if ever)

The old ones were DEAD so they reprogrammed the frequency. I think

My first guess would be that your truck might be stuck in closed loop, and the technician just needs to reset the ECU (there's an inexpensive tool we use to do this, and also most of the commercial programming tools can take the vehicle out of closed loop). We use the Bartec tool. Once that has been done, they'll just need to do a "relearn" which means upload the new (current) sensor IDs to the ECU. After that you should be good to go.

My second guess would be that they might have selected the wrong year when programming your new sensors, and the truck isn't recognizing the sensors. If that were the case, they'd need to go back and reprogram all of your sensors to the correct year, and then take it out of closed loop (if necessary) and perform a relearn. I doubt this is the case, but it could have happened.

I tried that already. It didn’t do anything to the TPMS System

I'm going through this now. Just replaced my wheels and tires and installed brand new TPMS sensors but the light is still on... Anyone able to figure this one out? I've been back to Discount Tire a few times now to have them reprogrammed but no luck. Thank you all!!

Am I correct to assume you are not getting psi readings (on all 4 wheels)?

According to Discount Tire all four wheels are reporting correctly.

    Ever figure out a solution?

Currently going through this exact same thing after having Discount Tire install new sensors.

Light came back on after about a week also

I'm in the same boat. 2007. All 4 sensors replaced at Discount Tire. Light went out for a bit and came back. Went back to DT. Not sure exactly what they did but the light went off for about an hour and now it's back again. Has anyone come up with a definitive solution?
