A couple questions on one of our favorite topics...

I recently bought a set of BBS TRD PRO wheels that came off a '20 Pro. My plan is to purchase a set of TPMS for the BBS wheels and keep my set of TRD OR wheels and tires as a spare set with smaller tires for winter and/or road trips.

    1. What TPMS p/n do I need for the BBS wheels?
    2. Can I have multiple sets of TPMS programmed for the truck? I asked a service advisor and he couldn't verify, bought thought it was possible.

@Roman can you assist with this?

Can’t help a whole lot but I’ll try. From what I understand you can go to any tire shop and have them “clone” the sensors frequency.

Also, the part numbers for the sensors , at least in my 08, cross platforms so they are cheaper depending on what you buy them for. Say they cross with a Scion TC that runs 25 bucks a sensor. But you get ones that are labeled Tindra that cost more.

don't take my word at a financial deciding factor

but....i've heard/read/seen multiple people have 2 sets of wheels (winter set and summer set) and have TPMS in both sets that the vehicle can connect to.
in terms of which ones you need, you can most likely look online and find them and/or the part number for it. i believe all the wheels utilize the same ones across the board on the tundras EXCEPT the steel wheels because of the angle they mount onto it.

I have both the original wheels with winter tires and a set of PRO BBS wheels with my summer tires. I bought the second set of TPMS from the dealer and whatever they did, it works with the new wheels. We'll see when I put the winter wheels back on but they are supposed to be able to automatically re-connect to the new TPMS when you swap back and forth. With mine it's working so far.

There was talk that in order to be picked up automatically when you swap (presuming you'll be doing it at home,) you need to get the factory TPMS from the year range of your truck. Aftermarket ones are somewhere between sketchy and useless.

I have 2 sets (summer/winter - aftermarket/OEM). Discount tire always resets when having the tire swap over done. I did the swap myself one season and don't recall the tire pressure dash light coming on.

Discount tire has very affordable TPMS sensors that they can "clone" the software on to trick your truck into thinking it's the same TPMS as your original set. Highly recommend, no need to bring truck to the shop/dealer when changing sets. Truck just thinks it's the same sensor.

Do you know what that would be? Seems to vary a bit by vehicle?

Sorry, i forgot what the PN was. I was going to switch to alloys but I decided to stick with the cheap and easy to replace steelies.
