Guys, I have a 2024 Limited built in Dec. 2023 that I purchased new in Jan. 2024. So far, nearly 20,000 miles. It has the TRD offroad package with TRD 3" lift. I've always wanted the PRO but they were rare when I bought my truck. Now, I have lucked up and found a 2025 Pro in the same color as mine fairly close by that I can get for $2,000 off MSRP. Just got unloaded off the delivery truck. They are giving me what I feel is a fair value for my trade so I'm tempted.

I would put down the money to zero the negative equity in my trade so essentially, I'd be entering into a new 72 month term with zero down. My current interest rate would go up by 1% and my payments would go up by $128/mo. Would you do it? YOLO? Or keep my current truck?

They are the same color. I'd gain one model year newer, the Fox suspension, the power lift assist tailgate new for 2025, the interior/exterior looks differences, the black headliner, etc. but I'd lose the TRD 3" lift.

I also think the 18" tires would have a noticeably more comfortable ride compared to the 20" on my current truck...that means a lot to me as I get older.

    Thoughts?

I know it's ultimately my decision, but I'm just looking for feedback on if the Pro is worth the price premium over the Limited....has anyone else made this swap?

How in the F did you get $2000 off MSRP?
Felt lucky to get the pro at MSRP.

you only live once and and its only money, HA

that said, if your stretching here, and and not saving for retirement, have credit card debt or any other of that BS, then rethink it perhaps, your already paying intrest on a depreciating item

I had two cards with a balance and just recently paid them both off. I have no revolving debt now other than truck note.

And yes I have an IRA established I contribute to weekly.

With a trade in a lot can be massaged to look like one thing or another. I use the Toyota build and price to get the payment. Whatever they do with the numbers I don’t care, sometimes they can show money off truck and a lower trade value, either way it doesn’t matter as long as you are happy with the end number

I’d pass if it was me. Seems like you are upside down on your currently loan and need to put money down to even it out. I take the money down and just slap new wheels and tires onto your current truck and this way you aren’t starting your loan over.

How much negative equity do you have in your current truck? 20K miles is kind of high for 1 year of ownership (I have only 6700 on my 2024).
I wonder if they would take the TRD lift off your old truck and install it on the new one? With labor that's a ~5K option you're loosing.

Negative equity is $8k. And the 3" lift is incompatible with the Pro.

My Limited had the Eibach stage one lift with TRD UCAs. Stock pro rides much nicer.

    26 yes, 66 no,
Does the current truck have under seat storage? That’s one thing I really enjoy with mine. I figure at 46 you have considered the additional monthly payment and are in a place where $128.00 isn’t going to hurt. Let us know what you decide!

    don't do it then,

if your in your 40s recently had credit card revolving and are 8k upside down, stay put and build up savings or pay off what you have faster.

Do it, then when the '26 refresh Pro comes out you can jump over to that for another $8k loss.

I had a couple of small balances on two of the 10 or 12 cards I have. I paid them off and now have zero revolving. I use my debit card 99.9% of the time, credit card the other just to keep them from closing them on me from non-use.

So you would be paying $8K equity + $9216 ($128 x 72) + additional 12 mo. of financing (assuming your current loan was 72 mo.) ~$13,200

That amounts to around an extra $30K. And you're getting... Better shocks, power tailgate, and "Pro" decals. (and subtracting 20K of mileage)

It doesn't seem like so much of a bargain to me. But, it's your money.

What's the PRO got that you can't live without? A lifted limited sounds pretty nice already, and your 24 isn't even part of the recall.

I would not do it for the fact that the TRD lift seems like Auto Zone purchase. Get some real shocks and springs. I don't see anything special about the TRD suspension. We don't even have remote start.
I'm waiting a year after my TRD ownership to get something better.

Not sure how to make heads or tails of this. Which lift? The TRD PRO and the optional TRD lift (two different suspensions) are both pretty solid offerings for what they are. And what’s remote start got to do with it?
