So, a dealer near-ish to me has a used 2017 limited for sale with a set of Fuel Beasts and KO2s on it. I have about 2k miles on my stock TRDs/Michelins and want to trade my rims/tires for their rims/tires. First off, do you think a dealer would even do that (I'm sure the answer is "duh" as long as $$$ is involved), and if so, what do you think would be a reasonable trade (wheels/tires + cash)? All brand new, both sets of wheels and tires are about the same cost, but we all know it's not gonna be that easy...

I’m confused. Are you trying to trade your wheels and tires for the brand new ones? They will probably tell you direct you to the parts counter

No, they have a used Tundra for sale with used Fuel rims and BFGs. I want to trade my stock TRD rims and Michelins for the Fuels/BFGs.

Yeah, but this was just a trade-in. You know the guy that traded it tried to get more because it has rims and tires, and you also know they told him that doesn't add any value, LOL.

I wanna here how this turns out. I'm pretty sure the dealer will have NO desire to trade unless you give him an obscene amount. Probably gonna be better to just buy what you want....... But who knows?

That's what I'm thinking, but these rims are exactly what I want, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I'll let you all know once I hear back.

Good luck. Hope it ends up like you want but I think you can get a new set cheaper than what they will sell them for separately or say they will sell them to you but you take the car also.

I have thought of this scenario: Drive a vehicle other than your truck to dealership, test drive the truck with the wheels, drive to your truck maybe with friends waiting. Swap the wheels on the trucks. Return the truck and tell them you will think about it. Betting sales person will not notice anything, or the dealership......

I have often seen that dealers try to get used vehicles back to stock before putting them on the lot. They often remove after market items, tint etc. So, you might be doing them a favor .I would say it all depends on the manager and his attitude. Good luck, I hope it works out for you.

I wouldn't speak to a manager (first anyway), I would try a salesman, maybe feel him out, make him the offer. Or try the test drive option..... :)
