After destroying my 2nd trailer harness connector while running the Mohave Trail, I need a better location for it. I did read up on the DIY relocation thread, but don't want to sacrifice a license plate light for it.
Does anyone have any ideas to get it out of the way while offroading? What do you other offroading Tundras do?

For some reason, @2ndgenny came to mind as we think alike on several threads...although with those giant 37s, I doubt that connector will even be an issue for you.

    Thanks in advance

I wonder if the relocation bracket for the Tacoma’s will work for tundra?

Hmmm, what does it look like? 4 & 7 pin options?

Mine doesnt have the 4 pin but all you have to do is cut a bigger hole.

I was thinking about the same spot, but worried only 1 license plate light wouldn't be enough?

One led bulb seems plenty bright. I haven’t put an led in and the single halogen does the trick still

The factory one didn't have holes or a edge to flush mount it as it comes from the factors in that metal bracket. It might be possible to sort something out with the factory one though....

Ahhh, I see, thanks. What tool did you use to get thru chrome bumper? I’m thinking diamond tip dremmel cutting wheel after drilling a few pilot holes with drill bit...any tips appreciated....

I used a hole saw as its basically round on the back. There is a little bump on the top of the connector that I used a dremmel to cut out for. Using a dremmel to cut out the whole thing would be a bit tedious I'd think. If I remember correctly, it wasn't all metal behind there... best to take a look. I used a sawsall to trim the original mounting bracket flush with the hitch and put some rust paint on the cut.

Thanks guys, great input, I have several ideas floating around now. After my monthly shoulder draining today, I'll dig in and see what I can come up with. Pics to follow
