My transfer case motor is shot on my 2000 tundra SE5XS cab four-door four-wheel-drive 4.7 V8. Does anyone have a recommendation on a replacement motor source?

Just a couple options, really. New or used Toyota actuator or a DORMAN aftermarket unit. I went with a used actuator from

I highly recommend JTD... good people

    THANK YOU for the replies!!!
The first commentor presents a very, very interesting site end it shows new OEM in Canada... I'll have to check on them because of the import tax issue. I would not mind used, but I have seen where this actuator has gone bad early as well as at the 250,000-mile-mark of my Tundra..... I located the source before posting here that showed parts sitting in Japan- again, the important issue is a mystery

These are usually very robust units, as long as they’re operated on a regular interval. The biggest contributor to failure is usually non-use. My used actuator came off a truck from California, and it really did look new when I received it.
Considering the tax implications of importing used parts from the states, I can understand your apprehension.

Buy the best and you only cry once…

Have you tried rebuilding the one you have? Usually they just fill up with crud. Unless the motor is burned up you might be able to save it.
