Howdy, I recently picked up a set of TRD Off-Road take-offs (according to the seller). They were basically brand new (just dusty) and I only paid $100 for the set of four. Had to buy center caps but no big deal. I noticed the wheels were stamped "made in china." I forgot to take a picture of the stamp before they went on the truck. They also had a Toyota stamp and several others that matched those on my 20'' platinum's that I took off. Just curious if the OEM off-road wheels are in fact made in China and that I in fact bought OEM wheels? I searched around and couldn't find anything definitive.

quick search of other toyota forums, 4runner, taco, etc show some of the wheels are made in china.

Yeah, I saw some of those posts on the other forums. Can't get a good picture of the stamps without taking the wheel off. One stamp says "Dicastal" which is a wheel manufacturing company that lists Toyota as a client. Looks like they are in fact OEM.

That's funny, looks like a wheel and not a rim to me.

    Why?

Many quality items are made in China.

I was personally more concerned that they were OEM rather than the country of origin.

I'm guessing there are many OEM parts/accessories in our Tundra's that are Made in China.

For sure, I just incorrectly assumed the country of origin would have been the same for both sets of wheels and wanted to make sure I got an OEM Toyota Part. But supply chains and such. . .

So I thought this was funny, but my GM wheels are made in China as well. Seen this the other day and laughed.

The BBS is Japan, Germany, or American.
    Quality matters.

I try not buy CCP if I can help it. Tech is big on CCP labor and parts.

The fact they are made in China does not mean they are lacking in quality....
