Interesting cause the picture they used is not a Pro. And what is Pulse Braking System for $499?

A lot of stock photos used on dealer websites are the the correct truck pictured. The pulse braking has something to do with making the brake lights blink a few times when stopping.

Have a buddy who thought the same thing as dealership listed the truck for MSRP, but when he got there (rushed his arse off to get there too) and when they started doing the deal SURPRISE $5k “adjusted market value add on”. They negotiated it down to $2500, but it is rare in todays world not to pay some extra markup. Yes, I did too but wanted one. Sometimes you have to pay to play.

This is my local dealer... no mark ups there, just the dumb $500 blinking tail light add on

What is crazy is my salesman told me on my truck and my buddies that he got and others they have got in, they are getting calls from dealers in Texas offering to buy their trucks (guess they can see what each other are getting) and offering to pay my dealer full MSRP plus $5 to $7500 over it to sell to the Texas dealer cause they say they mark theirs up $15k!! Wtf?! I don’t feel too bad then, but sounds like some of you Texas buyers are suffering from some shady arse dealers. Sorry neighbors (I’m in Louisiana). Again, this is just what my salesman was telling me who knows if true, but I can see it in todays world. ‍♂️

For anyone looking for a truck, my advice is to call first before going to a dealer. When I was looking for my 21, I called numerous dealers across the nation. I was surprised how many had a “market adjustment price” but not listed on line. In fact, that was the first question I asked when I called around, and if there was any market adjustment I passed. It took a while to find exactly what I wanted without an inflated price, but it was worth the wait.

I think it's a thumbtack glued to the brake pedal. Point up. And extra $499 gets you the Eco+ package. One glued to the gas pedal.

The dealer I am buying from made a commitment to not sell any car above MSRP, the problem they ran into is other dealers and out of state people trying to buy every allocation. At a point the had to start requiring proof you live in Minnesota to buy a vehicle.

I would say stupid buyers before I would say shady dealers. We’ve had a lot of out of state people move here lately from dumb states.

I actually got my 21 at a pretty good discount. I think the sticker was 57 and I paid 50. It was in November of 2020 so I may have just gotten in before it went crazy. Might be one of the last people to have actually gotten an old school deal.

Just doing research I’ve seen a lot of that. Priced online at MSRP but have a markup when you contact them. I’ve seen very few that actually show that markup on their site.

Interest rates are about to destroy the dealer mark-ups and maybe even the industry. Look at this! Price trends 30 days, 90 days, and 1 year time frames. Ouch for those who paid over on their 20-21 and those who paid over on basically any of them. By the chart, a lot of people who purchased in the last 12-18 months are already upside down on their Tundras if they put very little money down.

have always found these cost trends to be interesting however over the last 12 - 18 months things have been very different in the market place. i guess do to inflation amongst other things. You are correct if things return back to normal there will be a huge correction in price. is inflation going away soon ?

found it always to be a more attractive financial decision to purchase a used vehicle (3 to 5 yrs old). Currently, not so sure anymore? but maybe the tide is turning but doesn’t appear so yet , when i last researched a used say (3 yr old ) 2019 Tundra the prices have been higher than graph and the mileage on those used were high 56,000 to 84,000 miles on them. in todays market things have been turned up side down although I still feel buying used financially beneficial.

When I was in the market for my 21 last year, used were selling more than new ones. It was better to find one coming in and put a deposit on it and wait rather than buy used for more money.

That’s when you know it’s a messed up market. Just be glad you didn’t buy a house in the last 2 years. That’s where it’s really messed up.

That was my exact situation when I was looking for my truck late last year. I'd been in the market for a low mileage CPO 2020 or 2021 Tundra. There were plenty to choose from but the pricing was crazy for them. I went to check one out at AutoNation Toyota in Vegas and the sales guy basically said this, "If you're not in a hurry, I can save you money and put you in a brand new 2022 for less money."

So that's what I did. I put my deposit down in early November and took delivery of my 22 on Dec. 15th. Saved a few thousand bucks at the time by waiting for the new truck to come in vs buying the CPO. At the time, used CPOs were marked up so damn high because people want instant gratification by driving off the lot with a vehicle that day.

Bought my truck for MSRP. The only dealer "add-on" was a tint job, but that was fine since it's the desert and I needed it anyways.

Regardless of the opportunity you might be exposed to when the market is highly unconventional, you really risk holding the bag when it corrects.

If anything, I hope this slows down the folks that buy the next model year because they like the color.

Bought at a normal valuation in 18 and then refied the remaining balance at an incredible rate. Can’t beat that! My comment was in reference to purchases in late 2020 thru today. While the interest rate was nice the price was lofty.

I put 15 K down I think and My interest rate is pretty low but I also pay almost 4 times the monthly payment each month. I actually pay it weekly to help from incurring interest. I bought in Sept of 21 and made my first payment in October. If all goes as planned I should have it paid off by the end of this year.I did the same thing when we bought the 17 Escape Titanium for my wife, but had it paid off in 6 months.
