i am looking to put a TRD Pro grille on my 16 limited tundra. My black has like a sparkle to it so I don’t believe it’s the standard 202 code for onyx black or I would just buy the bulge and surround and be done with it! I have chrome surround right now and bulge. Would consider keeping chrome but would like to black out my truck completely! Black mirrors, handles, two ends on the front bumpers all black and just keep the emblems chrome. Really want to pull all the grey leather out and on dash and center arm rest and make it all black as well! What’s the best way to go about all of this? Let’s start with the grille first!

    Nice truck.
I can't imagine your truck has a custom color paint job with it being so new. I'm not sure what the paint codes are for 2016 though.

You can contact @Roman or see his parts thread to check if they make pro grill surround in your color, and also buy a black hood bulge.
I will say that i just bought an ebay pro grill and the quality was good, the surround was gloss black but probably not an exact match for toyota black. List price is $169 on ebay, they have a "make offer" tab you can click. I offered 140 and they countered at $150 and free shipping. Not a bad deal at all.

Roman is also your guy for bumper ends unless you wanna just paint, powder coat, or vinyl wrap them to save money.

As far as leather thats an expensive endeavor, katskinz makes nice leather and I'm sure you could sell your grey leather to someone here very easily. You could also look into replacing your seats with platinum model black seats. They are much more comfortable than the limited seats.

I seen them OBO grill I offered 100 the countered 150 also with free shipping. It looks like you have to screw the Toyota onto the grille. The OEM grill look like the Toyota is already attached?!? I want to be careful not to purchase something that maybe just a cheap knock off you know ‍♂️ Thanks for the compliment on my truck! Also thanks for booking me up with Roman! I’ll see what he has to say?!? I think my black code is like 219 or 216 metallic black? Not sure where on the truck to find the paint code?

Yes you have to screw the TOYOTA letters on. They provide screws, the OEM letters are held on with double sided tape.
I was leary of the quality as well but was very pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. As good as OEM in my opinion, and I've worked on OEM pro grill and now this ebay one.
I think you can find the paint code on the sticker on drivers side door jamb.
Or search your VIN on Toyota.

Well the pro grill is not available in 218, but the hood bulge is. I would buy a hood bulge from Roman and an Ebay grill with gloss black surround. If you don't like the color you'll have to get it painted 218 color, which you'll have to do anyway. Most expensive option is buy 218 hood bulge, ebay pro grill (just for the insert), and a paint code 218 platinum grill from Roman. Then remove the platinum insert from 218 surround, and also remove pro insert from Ebay grill. Then install the pro insert into the code 218 platinum surround (all depending if platinums come in 218 paint code). That's also a lot of work.
I'd try the black ebay pro grill and OEM hood bulge first and see. That should run you just under 400 for those pieces. I dont even wanna imagine what adding the platinum grill in 218 paint would be on top of the 400.

If I need to match color to body I will have to paint the surround! Romans feeds show that you can remove the grille from
The surrounds and put it in my existing chrome. Is this true with the eBay surround?

I believe the hood the hood bulge you can get in paint code 218. The TRD PRO Grille doesn’t come in that code. You would have to get it painted.

Just be aware what you're ordering on ebay. I ordered an "unpainted raw plastic" pro grill, and I ended up receiving a glossy black surround. There is also a listing for glossy black as well. I just went back and double checked my order and I ordered what I wanted but the surround was gloss the insert is unpainted raw material

Aren’t the grills suppose to be unpainted? The surrounds are what’s painted and the grill is just matte black isn’t it?

Yes you can buy the Ebay grill and install it into your chrome piece. Cost for this would be $150 , some bloody knuckles, certainly a few broken tabs on the grill but it'll look good and won't effect the fit or anything. Changing out the inserts is a pain in the ass but worth it. That won't get your blacked out look but it'll be unique for sure and I kinda like the chrome in your truck

Yes the insert is unpainted as it should be. I was under the assumption that the one I ordered also had an unpainted raw surround since it didn't have "glossy black" in the description.
I made it work though on my buddies truck with some help from 2 cans of plastidip;)

Thought about the broken tabs and aggravation!!! But can you purchase replacement tabs? The chrome surround may be nice way to go now that I stand here looking at my truck!!

Nah the tabs are part of the chrome surround. Don't worry though you may be fine, I broke a few when I did my grill and its fine don't even notice at all

Dude order up one of those glossy black ebay grills. You can do the chrome look but also gives you option to compare that glossy black to your paint....if it's good then order a black hood bulge from Roman. If not then swap insert to chrome surround
