hey everyone - new here. put a deposit down on a TRD PRO last week at my local dealer...today i did a search on the Toyota site and the below hits came up. I guess my question is, are these allocations for my zipcode for specific dealerships?

The website sucks, it's borderline useless. You will click on one of those vehicles and it will default to say it will go to whichever dealer is nearest your zip code. That's not the case. They will be allocated all over and you can't see which truck goes where.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

In your case, there is a great chance that the dealer took your money but has no idea when they will get the truck. I was about to do the same for a dealer in my area but I was essentially paying to join a unknown place in line on a list with an unknown delivery. It could be next month or this time next year.

Chatted with my dealer and they confirmed the above. Everything listed on the site is essentially spoken for. They then told me it could take up to 1 year… my wife called a dealer a few hours away from us .. that salesman said that they don’t think they’ll get any new trd pros until next year at the earliest .. thanks again for the replies

It’s a real crappy time to want a nice new truck right now. Unless you are willing pay over of course.

Funny yet sad story. I spent the last two months calling dealerships around the country to verify availability of each build listed on various websites. As Realonejay stated above, every vehicle is mostly spoken for. There was however, a dealership 500 miles away from me, that had a build coming in for delivery without a reservation. Apparently the GM wanted this sale to be on a first come first serve basis (with a markup of course). Knowing this, and in order to have a chance at the truck, I worked with the SA for the last 3 weeks. Texting back and forth, trying to get an understanding of when it would come off the delivery truck from its initial build in San Antonio. He called me on his day off, a Tuesday a few weeks ago, to let me know the eagle had landed and he was on his way over the dealership to take photos. I hung up, booked a flight an hour later, and was at the dealership at 1pm....2 hours after the truck had been on the sales floor. Luckily, I was the first one to come...and I was happily served before anyone else got there. Drove it 500 miles home a few hours later.

    Build:
    '22 TRD Pro
    Ice Cap/Rioja Red
Options: PPF, Ball Mount, Bed Mat

    Initial impressions:
    • Truck is beautiful inside/out. Significant improvement from previous gen.
    • Low end torque is impressive & has a nice growl in all modes (sport/normal/eco)
    • Display is huge and software is decent. Not the best UI but Android Auto makes up for it
    • Drove 500 miles home and averaged 17 MPG in eco (not 19/20)

    Issues:
    - The sunroof sounds cracked when driving above 50 mph. Need to take in for service to check seals and possibly build quality =/

    Truck looks sweet…

Personal question (which you can decline to answer as I know some folks may have a negative opinion and let you know about it).

You alluded to a dealer markup…do you mind saying how much it was over MSRP that you ended up paying?

…and was it bundled under “dealer options” or was it just straight up “Market Adjustment”?

No I don't mind — happy to share as "value" is a relative term and I'm happy which is all that matters.

    69k MSRP
    25k total markup
    $1750 USELESS dealer options

    First post here,

I just got a 2022 Tundra TRD PRO. I live in Arkansas. I paid $71K total, which included the dealer tint and nitrogen. Lucky I guess. I love it so far, I have 1600 miles on it now, filled it up 3 times now, first tank 16.6mpg, but summer heat and sat in it idling for hours pushing all the buttons, second tank 18.5mpg and 550mile range, last tank I got 19.1mpg and around 560 mile range iirc. I have been running in eco and taking it pretty easy on the rpms.

Let me know if anyone has any other questions they might want to know. I'm currently looking for running boards and a bed cover, which is why I joined up here. Thanks.

Congratulations and welcome…looks like you got a steal of a deal at MSRP for the most part.

Lots of threads on running boards and bed covers around here so just search and you will find.

Purchased and installed the Dual Step Running Boards (black) from the Toyota dealership directly. Compared them to the TRD cast aluminum running boards, but these were too heavy and stuck out a few inches further than the Dual Step boards. Very happy with them so far and easy install.

Picked mine up this week. Paid 10k over in Cali. Other dealers are charging 15-20k over. Gotta pay to play i guess.

Youre not wrong, we stopped doing sold orders here because they very rarely even get accepted. Its hard to tell someone to give you a deposit then when they ask when will I see my car and you have to tell them no clue. Also Im sure no dealers are telling you this but being one of the honest ones I will fill you in on something. The number one thing listed on a Toyota sold order form that we have to submit says.."TRD PRO sold orders will not be filled. Its always been that way and the reason, at least what I think the reason probably is, is because dealers will submit sold orders for TRD PRO vehicles that arent really sold just to add to their inventory.

That's comical really, I like my truck don't get me wrong, but if someone offers me $99,800 today, its yours.
