Anyone else who have installed the TRD running boards getting a lot of wind noise with theirs? Noticed a big difference after the install. Really annoying.

I installed the TRD boards last week and can’t say that I noticed a difference in noise. My truck has been very quiet on the road before and after.

I see the wind noise complaints regarding the window trim. Is it possible your window trim, coincidentally moved at the same ?

I honestly think it may be the cross wind I’m getting. It’s really windy here and just catching those holes just right. Sometimes I’m hearing it and other times not. I’ll see how it is on a calm day.

The weirdest thing I have found about these running boards is that Little Rock’s seem to stick to them. Like. They land on top and then settle in somehow! Love ‘em tho.

I have installed it myself. Very easy install.

Also, have not noticed any increased wind noise.

Is there a part number for those, I can't seem to find them online. Do you mind saying what they cost?

Havnt noticed any noise with mine. But can I say these are the nicest running boards I have ever seen or used. I do wonder if they should have came with another mounting bracket. There’s space for a 4th with bolts that line up on the truck. But it is a double cab so idk..

Just had them installed on my CC Limited and the CC has the 4 brackets. I am very glad I went with the TRD, they look great, are solid, and I love the bed-liner type finish.

Wind noise? I have not heard any over the driver-side window noise or the radio turned up....

Mind if I ask where you sourced them? I’m likely nearby, but in the planning phase as mine hasn’t arrived yet.

    Are the TRD boards aluminum?
I’m still trying to determine if its worth the extra $450 compared to other OEM version.
I definitely want the silver version off my limited but deciding between the two OEM versions

I thought they were forged aluminum. They sure look a lot nicer and don’t stick down as much.

I believe they were around 1,200 through my dealer, I installed them myself and saved a few hundred or something crazy.

I purchased them from Legends Toyota.
PT767-34220 TUN RBRD Cast ALUM D $999.00 discounted to $906.25 plus $150 to install.
I plan to service my truck at Legends and wanted to check them out service-wise.
The parts department people have been awesome and the service was good.

I'm not sure I see a $450 difference between the two running boards. The are both OEM aluminum.
If they had been same price or even $50 difference I would get the TRD but I'm not sure its worth double the price.
I went to my dealership and just picked up a pair of the flat ovals for $490 to replace the silver flat oval that came with my limited.

It may be the combination of the mud flaps an running boards causing the noise. I really enjoy there look tho.

the $550 ones are called dual step black on the website options page and are made of steel

the $995 ones are made of aluminum, hence the price difference.

Another vote here for the TRD running boards. They appear to be cast aluminum. Look great and a piece of cake to install yourself. Took 20 min. Worth the $$ on a 60K truck!

Anybody know how much they weigh? Thinking about pulling the trigger on these over a set of Go Rhino’s because of the weight difference and they’re OEM.

I don't know, I was searching for the weight as well and couldn't find. All I know is that cast aluminum is quite light.

I ended up getting them installed on my truck with delivery, so I wasn't even able to hold them in my hand to feel their weight... I can say that I absolutely love them! They sit really close to the body so you have to pay attention when stepping out, but that also means they act as a decent rocker panel guard for road debris. The texture is very nice and they definitely give the truck a more sporty feel over just a long, boring, steel rectangle.

I don't get any wind noise, but then again I've never driven the truck without them so I don't have a baseline to compare to. For what its worth I have a Jan 2023 build - the quality of everything (wind, rattles, panel fit) has been perfect.

I have Predator Pro on my 2023 Limited Crewmax that I would like to trade up for the TRD running boards as seen in the first post. Let me know if you are interested. I'm in Tampa Bay Area, Florida.

I don’t have an official weight on them but did load a box with them in it to take to the dealer, I would say they are close to 60-70lbs. I was able to pick up fine but they are long so the box was awkward.
