I was reading about the TRD supercharger and it's ecu and I ran into someone pretty local to me selling one. What do I need to install it and also what should I look out for?

Not 100% sure what you are asking?

If those are actual pictures of the unit, take it for a test drive.

Yes that what they are posting for sale, it's about 3hrs from me so I want to know what I should look for and what it takes to install in my 04 AC. I read somewhere that it's not a direct swap for 04 just want to confirm.

I'm contacting the seller now, I figured I ask here before so I know what to ask them.

You’ll need more parts than just the unit and ecu and some of the parts aren’t made anymore or available from Toyota

There’s a guy who specializes in tundra supercharger parts let me see if i can find his website to help

    You’ll need brackets,pulleys,injectors,and more

That’s definitely not enough for a complete kit

And some of those parts are big $$$$

You're asking for opinions along with facts, so opinion alert. No matter what, that thing will not have been added because the owner wanted a grocery getter. Presume it was used hard and something's wrong with it. If it's a couple hundred bucks and you're okay getting something you might need to fully refurb, maybe that's a palatable risk footprint. But if you want a fully intact, like-new SC, buy new from Magnusson or Harrop. Also, if you're asking what you need to install it, and you're talking about your primary vehicle and not a project truck, you should call a local shop to see what they'd charge. It might not be rocket science, but neither are O-rings.

However you go, good luck, and please report back with quarter-mile times. :D

It's not my daily it's more of my winter truck and summer to haul my track car. Only figured it could give me some extra torque for towing. Seller took it off because supposedly it wasted to much gas so he installed a regular manifold.

He's gonna be disappointed. The TRD SC is only a minor drag on fuel consumption compared to stock.

I spoke to Andy Auto sports and they don't have nothing available for TRD supercharger.

I received an email from Scott at ATS he is super helpful and can outsource all the parts needed. Waiting to hear back to see how much everything will cost. Now I need to see if anyone has installation instructions.

So making pretty good progress with this research. I have found the TRD installation manual. Does anyone know who rebuilds trd supercharger?

Well wait, before we start guessing at what you need we need to know whats included. If its on n operable motor it should all be there. 04 is good, it should have a 9th and 10th injector. That's the last year it was offered.

If you get it for 1500 that's a steal.

So waiting on the seller to send me more pictures he said it was installed on his 04 4runner. And his mechanic only took out the supercharger and trd ecu. So im still thinking about it because if I have to rebuild it then it's going to cost a pretty penny to set everything up.

Was thinking I might need to remove the trd ecu and use a piggyback or find someone to tune it correctly. That is what holding me back.

do you have emissions testing? running a stand alone and having it properly tuned will blow both options out of the water. if they price is right i'd jump on the blower because its easy to turn around and sell it for some decent coin

the full stand alone haltech on a 3.4 is good for some serious power gains. i'd imagine a 4.7 would benefit too. but within reason because of glass connecting rods
