Anybody have any tips or tricks removing the Chrome window trim around the doors windows? I ordered Toyota OEM blacked window trim. I don't want to jack up the Chrome ones that are in there in case I decide to put them back in. However, they seemed fairly difficult to get out but I'm sure it's probably pretty simple with the right tool or the right approach. Any suggestions are welcomed!

Take your time, don’t force, use an inexpensive trim removal tool. Got mine off no problems, some great videos on YT.

Same problem. There’s that one guy on YT with the blue tundra. His pops off with a screw driver. I tried and tried.
There seems to be two layers once you get push down the rubber gasket closest to window (for the vertical piece in back) I tried prying under both and just the chrome top layer working my way bottom up. Got it to pop a little under just the chrome layer but in doing so I bent the lip slightly. Too scare to give it another go.

Grab the entire trim, both sides with your bare hands. I don’t suggest using a screwdriver you’ll bend the the part. Gently coax it up, changing spots until you feel it pop off the window, you’ll know when it’s free
