I’ve been looking to get a low profile truck bed rack to attach to my Retrax Pro Xr but not sure if it’s worth the extra money for a Thule or Yakima setup over the Rhino Rack setup. I don't have any experience with the 3 brands and the functionality of each. For those that have any of the 3 setups, what do you like and dislike about your setup? I’m mainly looking to use it for transporting a bike and having a cargo box. TIA

When I looked last, Rhino Rack (my favorite of the outdoor brands you listed) only made a bed rack that clamps to the side. Plus i didnt like their height options.

Thule seems to be the go to. I went with OVS for a couple reasons. Cost was a big one, but I also wanted to be able to move it around and take it off if i wanted. Which i have done. It is on my 97 ranger right now and going back on the Tundra soon.

After all of this, one day, I will be getting Rhino Racks roof rack and putting them over the bed on their sliders. this will hold my fishing poles and bike, plus slide out of the way when I need to do truck stuff. Which is why the rack came off to begin with.

I have the Elevate racks. They're black, bombproof, and work. Slide easily on-and-off the Retrax system.

My issue is I don't have my truck now due to engine issues. If you're in CA, I'd sell you my Elevates for cheap. PM if you're interested.

IMG_5041.jpg IMG_4956.jpg I had the Elevate rack and wasn’t a fan personally. Yes, bombproof and solidly built. Main advantage is the ability to use it with a folding cover IMO. It’s heavy, not easy to remove without an extra set of hands and height adjustment options are limited unless you drill more holes.

I returned the Elevate and picked up a lightly used Yakima Overhaul. My main uses are for kayaks, bikes and the occasional hardware store run. The Yakima is far more adjustable, way lighter and easier to take on and off when I need to haul taller items. I like the integrated tie downs and I also like the sportier angled look that more closely follows the shape of the cab.

Yep - as you noted, the Elevate had limited height options. So I drilled mine to allow it go nicely over the cab of the Tundra.

Yours does look really good, though. Zero criticism here.
