Truck Cap Size Question

Hi
I have a 2020 DC TRD Sport and am looking into caps. Preferably used as there are a lot of them out there. My question is, does it have to be made specifically for the Tundra or can I look at 6'6" long caps that may not say for Tundra but other manufactures? Just starting looking and not finding many used Tundra caps out there in MGM or I would settle for black, too.

Trucks are tough for Tundras. The biggest issue with used caps is how the back window rests against the tailgate. Every truck manufacturer is different and that will cause the cap to either be too long or short. I gave up and bought new because nobody had what I was looking for

I was told by multiple people I will need a tundra specific cap.

 

I went with a Century Mid Rise (it’s the same as a leer). Most cap manufacturers are top notch. I would pick whichever one had a dealer closest to me. I was very close going with an ARE

I also have a century and love it. Same as Leer just a little cheaper on the wallet.

If you are some how about to find a Tundra cap in the correct color for your truck then play the lottery. I ended up going with a Leer 100xr, carpet lined, fold down sliding front window. Put in a bed rug and its like having a huge SUV but easy to clean. The dogs love it.
