Has anyone installed the Truxedo Elevate Rack System on a 2023 Tundra? There seems to be a strip of metal hanging down from the rail that is keeping the clamp from going up high enough to get a good grip. Cutting a slot in the metal strip is a solution but not something Truxedo talks about in the installation. This rack is supposed to work with the Bak Revolver X2 and they for sure don't work together. Besides the Bak byisn't fitting either, it has a clamp problem because of this metal hanging down.

Did you remove the bed rail? They have a set of clamps that utilizes the bed rail

That's interesting. Is that a 2023? My bed I not spray on. Those are not the clamp I got and Bak saw my photos and didn't say mine were the wrong ones. The sheet metal on yours looks different where you clamp is. Mine has larger gap behind it. I can't believe Toyota makes different beds for different Tundra models. Thank you.

I have a 22 Limited but the beds are the same. I assume yours came with the rails on the inside? It kind of looks like they were taken off. If you contact truxedo I’m sure they can get you the right clamps.

Bumping this old thread - has anyone installed the Truxedo Elevate with an OEM Toyota trifold tonneau cover?

I'm hoping to do that this week.

I have this rack on my '22 with factory rails inside the bed and an Undercover Flex, which is very similar to.the factory tri-fold. Works great.

I have the Tundra deck rails and bolted the Elevate TS rails to it with the included clamps which slid into the deck rails. I specified that I have the Toyota deck rails when I purchased it. In fact, I purchased 2 more clamps per side to hold it more securely. I have the Truxedo X15 low profile tonneau cover as well.

Thanks for the pics. I'll post pics with OEM tonneau cover when I get it on.

    Those clamps still working ok?
I am doing something just like that and seems flimsy since they don’t clamp all the way to the top (wish were longer) but maybe it doesn’t matter since the weight of anything on the rack would be pushing down.

Yes, the rails still work fine. I’ve loaded two 35lb kayaks on them and driven at highway speeds… the teeth on the rail clamps add quite a bit more surface area and vertical constraint than you think. The load really moves to the shear strength of the bolts that Toyota holds the bed rails in with.
