I am in agreement with the previous two posts...

The dash tear down in our trucks looks to be way more intimidating than what it really is. I have done it more times than I care to recollect. Even taking your sweet time to pull the bezel out carefully, it is still something that you can get done easily in a morning or afternoon chunk of a day. @2020Platinum has an awesome video covering how to do this task.

A complete swap out would be ideal using part number 55405-0C020-C1 for the black one. This part can be found for just over double the price of the overlay. I would be willing to bet that some members here would be willing to buy your silver one for approx. $100, which would help offset your costs of the black one. This seems to be the best value, bang for your buck and nearly match the price of the product you are inquiring about.

Another suggestion would be to have your silver one pulled and painted with SEM trim paint or have it painted by a body shop professionally, which around here is about $80 hourly out the door...

Everything about this overlay product just does not seem to compute but that is just me... If you are anywhere near me (Southeast Idaho) and if you would have me, I would gladly offer helping tear down, swap, or paint because, brother, you can do better and right by your Tundra than that overlay...

I'm gonna see about having Southeast Idaho moved closer to Texas. That's really cool of you to offer to help him.

I am actually planning a trip out to the Yellow Rose in March! Does that count? Gotta go and see the fam down there and head back out to a place called the Salt Lick. Depending on where you are, I wouldn't mind stopping by to say "¿Qué onda, dónde están las cervezas?"

Nice - the original Salt Lick out in Driftwood? We live about an hour or hour in a half in the other direction. We'll see what's happening with the pandemic at that point and if things are looking good, maybe we can link up. I have a high platelet issue so I need to be extra careful right now. Send me a PM when you are heading out this way.

I appreciate that! I think I'll look into that part then. Is that a Sparks or Cool Springs type of order?

It can be either. However, I just checked Cool Springs and it appears the online store is still closed. I think one is still able to place orders in store though... This part can be ordered from just about any stealership too. Some also have online stores that will price match...

I had Tuffskinz vent covers and they sucked.

They were so bad, I sent pics to them and got my money back and removed them minutes after installation.

Well, you guys convinced me... Awesome video @2020Platinum , made it really easy. I'll update once the piece dries and is back together. Looks far scarier than it actually was.
