I just gotta pull the trigger and do it!!!

After seeing this conversion..I think this looks much better than the huge grill and front end currently. Gets rid of the Fu Manchu Look.

Yes I have thought about color matching the grill surround and bottom piece but the smaller grill and bottom bumper cover just looks better in my opinion.

Has anyone done this to a gen3 or thought about it? Only shop I know and have seen on Instagram is Adventure Motors in Missouri and they did an awesome job. Looks badass! Pictures below from their rig.

Curious to see my fellow Gen 3 owners thoughts are here?

It definitely looks better but the price at this moment is a bit steep. Maybe others will wait for a few smucked up Sequoia's to show up at salvage yards to make such a conversion.

That is one of the reasons I decided to purchase my Tundra in Celestial Silver as Fu Man is much less noticeable. Just thinking to color match the plastic piece above the bumper.

    :)
For me it’s not as pricey as I thought. All in would be about 2500. with no/minimal modification. The sequoia grill and bumper cover are said to bolt right up. This will be a bigger version of the new Taco haha :)

It does look good! It would be sweet if you can keep it OEM with Toyota parts.

Yea..if that’s what you’re going for or the look/capabilities you want…not debating there are many options and modifications you can do with 2500…

It would be all OEM..OEM sequoia trd grill and OEM bumper cover. Tracking down light bar and 3 amber lights is only thing that may not be OEM

Of course looks are subjective, but to me - this is how the Tundra should have be redesigned initially. I think it is WAY better looking. And honestly $2,500 isn't too bad. I would be tempted if I could get it done at a shop or dealer near me for that.

That looks so much better. If that’s really the cost though, I think I’ll learn to like it the way it is. I agree though, that’s the way it should’ve looked. I’m glad my ‘stache is color-matched.

Yes I agree but knowing this is something I wanted to possibly do before purchasing the truck…2500 is not much when you have a 70k+ truck modifying it how you like.

Obviously this is subjective to the owner. Tough part is finding a good body shop to match the pearl white paint!

Looks great. If this was a no-charge factory option, it would probably be selected more than the Fu Manchu front end.

i know blasphemy, but i think the front end on our plat with the blueprint isnt that bad. prob the dark chrome helps compared to the other trims and color combo's

Where are you at in Texas? I’ve had some parts painted WCP here in the Houston area that turned out great.

I think the Sequoia bumper with one of the stealth bumpers (I like CBI, but whatever flavor you prefer) will be the best option out there for aesthetics + utility.

Elite Auto Finish in Atascocita (northeast Houston area). Probably not feasible for you to use them from SA but the mirror caps they did on my 21 WCP Tundra were perfect.

This conversion really is awesome looking. I dig the conversion they did with the dissent off road sequoia bumper. It looks amazing on the tundra.

I have a parts list. I was considering posting it but wasn’t sure. I’m just waiting for paint so I can install.

I’m not liable for any misinformation. These are the parts I received from adventure motors. My experience was far from pleasant, will never go back, that’s all I have say. Parts are definitely cheaper if you source them on your own.

That is surprising to me. I’ve spoken with adventure motors many times. Never had an issue, they have by far been the most responsive builder I have ever worked with. I tried multiple times to speak with people who do this kind of stuff closer to home and never had any luck. I’m going to use them to help me upgrade some stuff for sure.

I guess they really didn’t like me. I started losing patience and getting pissed, but the info kept changing and I couldn’t get any response after a while and started getting pissed. Is what it is, if they’re good to you, then that’s all that matters.

Body shops are all behind right now, so I’m just waiting for them to sneak it in the booth. I work with a few local shops, so I want to keep my business with them.

For anyone that is interested in doing it, the job itself would be pretty easy to do on your own. The hardest part that I am dealing with is waiting for paint. The parts in the kit/parts list are mainly plastic structural parts, two trim pieces below the headlight, a grill, and the outside plastic cover. They all snap/screw together, reusing some of the hardware on the original bumper unfortunately, or utilizing new hardware you’d have to source on your own.

I will update after I get mine installed. I was going to jump the gun and just put everything together, then pull it back apart, but that seems like a waste of time.

From my dealer, that comes up to about $900. How much are you getting quoted for paint? Really not a bad price point considering folks are buying Tundra OEM parts to re-paint to de-chrome. If you were going to do that anyway, this seems like a no brainer, unless you really like the stache.
