There was another thread just like this. I can't remember the solution used.

I think @NewImprovedRon was involved in that one as well as many others.

Hopefully some one with better memory will chime in with a link.

Pretty sure using a slim Jim was the answer.

I believe the bottom-line conclusion of the thread is you had to have committed at least two f'ups to have gotten in this predicament, one of which is a failure to re-install the door lock link properly.

Sorry, got to go watch television with the wife. Break a window; it'll sharpen your skills for the next time you're working on the door lock. ;)

Call the dealer to come and get it. If it's not your fault on a new truck, then it's Toyota's. Let them worry about it.

Happened to my cousin on his way home to Austin in the middle of the night, when he pulled over to take a piss and locked his keys in his truck with it running. There was nobody on the road and his phone was in his truck. Had to walk around and find a rock big enough to break his passenger window.

I understand that but what if your wife is out and the battery goes dead and door won't open with the key

Just call Toyota. You have 2 years free roadside service and towing with the Toyota Care you get when buying a new vehicle.

Train your wife to find a "bigger rock". Sorry, couldn't help it. :D

Exactly. Stole the words out of my post. Toyota Care has free towing. Although, you might want to also get a supplemental AAA policy for your wife. I never used the Toyota Care towing option, so not sure how long it takes them to get there in the middle of the night.

Then, when the dealer has it in his shop, RAISE HOLY HELL that your wife was stuck on the side of the road. Maybe that will get **** moving.
