Anybody out there have pics of their front bull bar / brush guards they'd like to share? Comments of what they like / don't like about it would be rad too. Thanks!

*Specifically, looking for a light duty, low profile model with a license plate mount. Hate the look of having to have the license plate - but hate getting pulled over for not having it more.

Example of what I've been thinking about:

Keep in mind, most of them are just for show and will do more damage to your vehicle if you get into a fender bender.

Great call-out. Thank you. This is why I've been on the fence about them... For my current build I like the tame / scaled down look as opposed to the full wrapped heavy duty options but have heard similar feedback as what you pointed out.

Yeah that is why I've thought twice about buying one.

I got a Tyger brand brush guard to match my nerf bars. My 12 year old who knows nothing about anything vehicle wise commented on how it looks like it won't do a thing if in a front end accident. Basically he saw the connection from the truck to the brush guard and how flimsy it is.
    Surprised he noticed.

I've got the Tyger brand guard as well. Liked the look of it better than a lot of others on the market. If price hadn't been a factor, I definitely would have opted for a full off-road bumper for the added protection though.
They're called 'brush' guards for a reason, and as mentioned, they're not adding a lot of protection from impacts. That being said, mine has taken a few minor hits in parking lots apparently, and I have bumped a few things as well. Aside from a few scuffs in the textured paint on the guard, there was no damage or bending and my bumper and grill was spared. Of course, there's still the question of whether or not the bumps would have occurred had I not had the guard on since it sticks out from the bumper quite a bit, but overall I'm happy with the aesthetic it gives, and feel there is some protection added as well.

Speaking from pure experience The strongest most heavy built brush/grille guards on the market are made by Ranch hand , the Westin HDX takes a close second place imo.

I know a few guys who have the ranch hand grille guard and have hit coyotes and smaller deer at highway speeds ( 50-65 mph) resulting with zero damage.

Most if not all other brand brush guards are purely for looks . Not function .

I like the look of mine also & I'm happy with it. My sons was seeing the connections from the brush guard to where it connects to where the tow hooks were and seeing how substantial the brush guard is compared to the 2 bolt connection to the truck.

we always go with the Ranch Hand Legend grill guards on the trucks. Bull bars are just cosmetics. The Ranch Hand grill guard for the 2021 Tundra has the mesh cutout for the interactive radar and the parking sensors work fine with it as well. The advantage of the Ranch Hand over the other brands is it is heavier and mounts in 4 places, not just at the tow hooks. It retains the use of the tow hooks.
