Tundra color matched grill ?

Just looking for a super white color matched grill any websites ?

 

Like, the grille insert is white or the surround piece is white?

If the former, sounds like a custom paint job. Not sure that was ever offered in white.

If the later, just ender your paint code (found on the sticker in your driver door jam) and tundra grille surround on Google. Might have to give it a year but you should start seeing options.

From Toyota it looks like 350ish but eBay and other sources have it for sub 200.

This does not include the emblem! But with your truck not having the sensor in the grille, you can get one of the custom designs that fits the space and not pay for the Toyota T emblem that allows the sensor to function.

The Toyota one can be from a Toyota parts distributor or ebay. I was just saying that since you don't have a sensor you can find one of the fun custom ones

Be aware that emblems changed how they mount. Not huge for you since you don't have a sensor you could make it fit without issue. Just being up front that the grille and emblem might not fit since its hard to tell online which option you are getting.

 

Thanks bud yeah I know it’s hard really to tell. The thing that Iam hoping that is easy is the 2018 grille is easy to put on a 2016 . do the 2018 grilles have the same mounts or u gotta modify ?

 

So the surround will fit from a 2013 to 2021, and the grille insert is interchangeable from the surround. In 2018 they added the TSS sensor behind the grille emblem and since the sensor has to work thru it, its cost went up. I'm not sure the emblem from your grille is removable, it might just be part of the insert (I'm not as familiar with the earlier inserts). I have the TSS so I've paid attention to the joys the emblem change created

You can try searching OfferUp or Marketplace. As @RobertD said, the surround will fit any grille '14 - '21. The white surround should be easy to find. Search junk yards or Tundra part outs. Alternatively, most people may recommend bumpershellz if your looking to dechrome your truck.

By chance, where are you located? Anywhere near So Cal?

The grille I posted a picture of is one I got from a '18 part out. I got it mainly to experiment on for when I upgrade to a Pro grille for my '18. I ended up taking it apart to learn how to safely do so without breaking any tabs. I ended up painting the chrome surround to match my MGM and it didn't come out half bad. I actually just today installed my pro grille and I used the painted surround. I'll see tomorrow how it looks in the daylight. It's most likely not a perfect match but it looks pretty close. Anyways, there's lots of options for you. This is the best place to find out all about them I know I did

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like this is everything you'd need:

All totaled for brand new OEM parts you'd be looking at ~$815. If you could reuse your emblem or find a cheaper one, knock off $200-?.

I also did a quick Google search of "2016 Tundra SR5 white grille", and it looks like there are various listings on Ebay for the grille and hood bulge for under $300. Factor in emblem re-use or aftermarket emblem and you'd probably be around $400 total. I can't speak to the quality of a knock-off Ebay grill though, biggest thing I'd worry about is the paint job, not so much the plastic itself, but white's probably the most likely to match well. Would still need to get an emblem and the cover for the top, although the top cover is to cover this connector which goes to the emblem for TSS stuff in the new trucks. If your truck doesn't have a connector here, you could probably skip the cover and save another $20 without any negative effect, but don't take my word for it lol.

 

Search 90975-A2014 in ebay. Anything under $100 bucks, usually has a broken tab but they still work with no issues. I tried looking for ever on FB marketplace and could not come across anything. Anything from the dealer is like 200 bucks. I ended up getting on ebay myself for 80 with a broken tab and it mounted fine

I bought the color matched grill, bulge and new TRD headlights from Fred Anderson Toyota during the Memorial Day sale for 20% off plus free shipping. They had a sale July 4th also, I expect that will have a Labor Day sale also. Way cheaper than eBay also.

If your Tundra is a Pro than you likely have the 1st version of Pro grille already.

This is the outer trim(surround) that I painted from the part out. It's not perfect and not recommended to paint over chrome but gonna see how long this lasts me. I have my factory painted one set aside should I ever need or want to go back.

Since your looking to swap, i'm sure you'd find someone on here that would take you up on a trade offer. If you have the Pro grille, you'll likely find someone quick on here. Looks like you may not be able to post in the classifieds section yet but maybe in the AZ region or the thread that I linked.
Also check out post #16 by @Snert. The first link he provides has all the part numbers needed should you chose the factory brand new method. Oherwise, you can go the inexpensive route like me and piece it all together from part outs.

 

I had the chrome style, I wasnt looking to change it, but came across some good deals. Then i said screw it, ill change it. I dont know why i fought it lol

 

What steps did you take to paint it? Degrease, sand, mineral spirits, adhesion promoter, paint, clear, and most importantly a few Coors Banquets

Picking up a pair of color matched bumpers in a couple weeks from a guy that took them off his pro. Debating spending the money to just get all new OEM grill + surround, hood bulge, and sensor cover since my truck has the TSS stuff. Other option would be to paint my chrome surround and bulge and get one of the knock off TRD inserts and save $400-600 depending on if the aftermarket TSS garnish cover causes issues as it seems like they're hit or miss.

 

Aww man I got tired of just reading all those steps. I'm far from a pro when it comes to painting. I just scuffed up the chrome and hit it a few times with the right paint, let each coat dry well enough then I hit it was a couple layers of clear coat. A few weeks later(maybe a couple months) I wet sanded it n it honestly didn't come out too bad IMO. Will it last forever? Probably not, but this is just a spare piece that I had to be able to play around with.
