    Is there a TL;DR for a 30 min video?

Well hopefully we didn't scare you away!

If you look at the forums most people here are complaining about radios, MPGs and Trans Coolers on 2019+. One of our members sells a kit made of mostly OEM pars to fix this last issue.

The biggest problem with Tundras is people buying them without doing research and then complaining because it doesn’t have this or it does that.

I play it at double speed to cut it down to 15.

    From the video description:
1- Engine Category: The Tundra came with many engine options including the 1GR-FE 4.0L V6 the 2UZ-FE 4.7L V8 and the 4.6 and 5.7 UR-FE engines. Most notable issue on the 5.7 is the broken valve springs and the leaking cam towers. 2- Transmission and 4WD : The transmission is relatively problem free however many have voiced their concerns over the lack of an external transmission cooler which is addressed in this video. 3- Chassis : I address common brake issues including the scraping noise from the rear brakes. 4- Electrical issues including radio issues and issues with aftermarket remote starters. 5- I cover common issues with the frame rusting on this model tundra. 6- I also go over the best year to buy recommendations.

buy 2010 and up, check for cam tower leaks before you buy, don't worry about the missing transmission cooler, make sure the tranny has been serviced every 50K Mi.

    Enjoy.

    [sarcasm]A $2K shop repair bill :) [/sarcasm]

Absolutely not. Did a bunch of reading on forums for multiple brands and Toyota forums are pretty quiet as to issues what I'd consider serious issues in relation to other makes. Just want to prevent buying that one lemon that is floating around at dealerships/CL and becoming "that guy" so this was great timing.

I'd say that video would merit being placed in sticky threads for the 2nd and 3rd gens but I'm new here and the mods on this forum can better discern that need.

    @Saltyhero13

Is there a remedy for the brake scraping. I went up yonder search bar and one attempt yielded 0.0% efficacy.

You have been set to task, sir. Deliver a spectacular result as I've come to expect from you.

Brake removal is the recommended action. This also requires the "Flintstone" floor panel mod.

Ceramic slippers when towing or toeing.

Is it the pads dragging on the rotor or the rotor contacting the splash shield?

Why on earth are there conversations of the Tundra not being a “real” truck? I’m not yet fluent in all the brand rivalries.

Did he talk about the front differential needle bearing going out? I may have missed it since I was getting ready to go out.

Good video, but it made the Tundra sound like a total POS, which it definitely is not.
